Hi,

Can anybody help me with a problem.I read a book as a child about a boy that travelled around on a ship ( carribean I think ).Title ? adventures of the sirius ? or something along those lines ? He ate oranges and I can't find evidence of this book anywhere !!! Is this a figment of my HIMAGINATION !!!!!!

LOL Any suggestions ?

Any help would be appreciated.
This is driving me crazy lol

I am sure now it was a fiction book based on the ship (real) HMS Sirius and about its trips to the West Indies etc.

Can't find it in any web search.Maybe I imagined it !!! How can a book just vanish off the face of the earth. The main character was a boy and he went aboard the ship.Reember it being one of the first books I read.

Anybody have a clue ?

Paul :p

Guess its a figment of my himagination !! :(

i read a book recently called dogsbody by an author named diana jones I think that's her last name anyway. It's about the travels of a boy named sirius who is searching for zoi and is going to trapped in a dogs body or something along those lines. My memory of it is kind of shoddy and it's probably not the book you're looking for, but it's the closest thing to anything like that I have read.

okay so i thought about it even more and I remember reading a book when I was a kid called the voyage of the sirius or something like that. I know it was definately voyage though, if that helps. It was published sometime in the mid to late 1800's, and was something about a norwegian expedition.....I think. Don't remember the author, sorry.

Hi

Thankyou RIKKIS, isn't it frustrating trying to remember a childhood book !!

Yes sure it was about a ship called sirius and was a bout a young boy who got friendly with the ships captain. He ended up sailing around (west Indies etc).I am not sure whether it was a library book or something.Maybe I have the title all wrong !! It appears there was a real ship called the HMS Sirius.Maybe the story was based on that same ship, the norwegian one you refer to.

Anyway thankyou for your help and nice to meet you.

:D

I really hope you find your book, let me know, I understand how frustrating it can be. I'm currently searching for one too. It was a children's book I want for my neice about a bunny that can't find a place to live. Any way, good luck with your search.

Well I have at last ( by chance ) discovered the title and author of the book !!!
Having a peek at my old book collection I found a book called John and Nambaree.Apparently this book is a sequal to the book I am trying to find.
My book was called "John of the sirius".An Australian book written by a lady named Doris Chadwick. There isn't much evidence of my book on the web and  it seems it is rather rare and going for quite a bit of cash !!!!!

Maybe there weren't many published ? Why should it be worth so much ?

Weird ! Perhaps I should have kept hold of it.If anyone can enlighten me about this book I would love to hear from you.

Paul
