books similar to Dark Tower

Hi, I'm a big fan of the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Have any of you other fans read anything a fanatical of the Dark Tower would especially enjoy(Other than the Dark Tower of course )

Nothing really springs to mind. You could try It, the Stand and Eyes of the Dragon all by King. These works are fairly similar to DT and that's about the best I can do.

What particular aspects did you enjoy?

There aren't many other books like it in the genre - nothing I can think of anyway - but if you give me some specifics about what you liked it might help in finding more reading material.

Of course, I'd recommend my book - http://forums.thebookforum.com/showthread.php?t=6365 (which, coincidentally, has guns and magic) but depending on what you're looking for, it could be quite different.

I clicked 'Post Reply' to say The Death Gate Cycle by Weiss and Hickman but you have to kinda reach for the similarities. There are some similar themes and each book is a story of it's own and both are 7 books long but The Death Gate Cycle is certainly more Fantasy flavoured than The Dark Tower.
