i read that it was meant as one book, as J D stated in a post on the previous page.
i don't consider it three books because there is no resolution to the story if you read only one. i know that sounds silly in light of some other books, but if you had only read the first LOTR (Hobbit...
my doctor told me that because i have (had) a feathertop bed on my mattress, i may had added 10lbs of dustmites to my mattress. 10lbs???? needless to say, i got rid of the damned thing. i'm allergic, dustmites make me itch
my favorite character is Eowyn. the movie did not do her character justice and didn't include the resolution to her storyline. that was disappointing to me. she's my favorite character because she's strong, noble, and brave as any male in the books.
my test also came out with Legolas
Perhaps he did not do these things because he really, truly feels that Terri would not want to live like that, and that is why he is fighting to end her life instead of leaving her.
the woman in my office also recommended those to me (for my sister, as my nephew is quite a handful). she said both were enormously helpful in managing her unruly child. funny, those are the exact 2 she recommended.
i didn't really want to get into this conversation, but this point keeps coming to mind. if we are talking about marriage vows and the "ifs" of what Terri wanted, who is to say she would want her husband to have to live married to her like that for the rest of his life? i know if i were in her...
i'd like to see some Wilbur Smith books made into movies. i think i took part in the thread about how movies can't be as good as the book, but when it comes to Wilbur Smith's books (and ones similar) i don't agree. i think Monsoon could make the transition to film well, if the effort was put in...
Stewie: Well, I'd love to stay and chat, but you're a total bitch
i love Stewie
one of my favorite scenes is when Lois and Peter are having a regular conversation in their bedroom. you can't see them, you can see just the door and hear their conversation. then it shows them nearing the end...
i LOVE Clive Barker. to me, he's the king of the fantastic. his books blow my mind (pardon the cliche). it's been awhile since i've read any of his books because i haven't come across anything new, but i've read:
The Great and Secret Show
Everville
Imajica
The Damnation Game
Cabal...
JEEZ jenn- another reason you're my east coast double:
my parents, too, are VERY liberal and young. they let us do what we wanted, i never had a curfew. but that's where our similarities end on this subject (i hope).
when i was at the age when i needed the talk, i didn't get one (in the...
the traditional funeral here is with an open casket, long sad funeral in a church and then processional to the cemetary. no thanks. i've been to enough of those to know i dont want to be remembered that way. i don't want an open casket because i want to be remembered how i was when i was alive...
realistically, i would like for my organs to be used, then my remains cremated and spread in the ocean beside my hometown.
but if i could have any sendoff, i also would love the viking exit. put me on a floating funeral pyre, with flames 20 feet tall and throw a huge beach party to celebrate...
i had 2 penpals when i was around 17. one from Australia (South Penrith), she lasted for about 2 years, then she got married, had a kid and i never heard from her again. the other i had was from Norway. she lasted about 6 months. back then, email wasn't a regular thing (at least not for me) so...
i'm halfway through Tess of the D'Urbervilles. it's better than i thought it would be. i get so frustrated reading novels like this, though. the waste created by the restrictions and gender bias of proper society is maddening to me. i would not have done well back then
i can't say i love or enjoy cooking, but i love the end result so it's worth it.
my favorite meal to make at home is grilled salmon with garlic buttered asparagus and mashed potatos. we usually start with a salad at every meal, and my favorite salad is the basic: lettuce, tomato, avocado and...
