that sounds a bit like Timeline... anyway, i just read The Last Light of the Sun and now I'm hooked on Guy Gavriel Kay. plus i loved Timeline so maybe i should check out The Fionavar Tapestry next.
try The Time Traveller's Wife by Audery Niffenegger. it's a fantastic love story. but you have to be able to understand time travel and not be confused. it's not a science fiction book AT ALL, it's a book about relationships and life. struggles and happiness. i laughed and cried (that sounds so...
i just went through a literature/classics phase. many books that i had always meant to read but never picked up. i enjoyed some and didn't enjoy others. let's see, what did i read? Anna Karenina, Mrs. Dalloway, The Great Gatsby, David Copperfield and a few others i can't think of right now...
i do reread books because, like movies, i sometimes find i get more out of them the second time. unfortunately, until i buy a house, i have to keep packing my books away as i read them so i haven't re-read many of them in a long time. i keep a few out specifically for rereading and those are...
i loved Timeline by Michael Crichton. it was fast paced and fun to read, plus i found it pretty interesting. i'm pretty sure that was a blockbuster (or at least close). as everyone knows, the movie sucked ass.
i am just about to finish The Time Traveler's Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger. the name of the book got my attention when i was at the book store- i had never heard of the author or the book. it is fantastic. beautifully written, funny, clever and sad. it's about a man who travels through time and...
thanks Moto, nice to be back (for the few mins i can).
i am sorry to beat a dead horse (ew) but i just got here so i'm not sick of this thread yet.
since when is not exersizing good judgement an excuse for not having to take responsibility?
how many more facts does one need? even if...
the reason i don't find the story funny is because laughing at it makes light of a very serious problem. when people go missing it should be taken seriously. we are exposed to kidnappings, sexual abuse and murder everyday (in the media) and when we're duped by confused, scared or just flighty...
it's fantastic here today, too. we've had summer weather here for almost 2 weeks.
today i'm off to LA for work. i'm leaving at noon and will be back thursday night. i'm not a big fan of travelling for work, but at least it breaks the routine up a bit
we had our spring clean up a few weeks...
yeah. the fact that they all have normal jobs is cool. my mum-in-law also watches Y&R. everyone on there has some fantastic career at a cosmetic company or some-such crap. i guess coronation street is reality soap and the rest are fantasy soaps.
hmm- actually, i think i'm wrong. i did say i haven't been offended. i owned up to finding something offensive. slight difference in relation to your earlier post on here. sorry about that.
i thought it was damn good. the dance scene was brilliant. the chick who took the posed photos! it was unconventionally funny. i'm so sick of comedies where you can predict what line is coming next or the humour is obvious.
What is your favourite word?
ersatz
What is your least favorite word?
the c word that moto said was his favorite curse. i hate that word with a passion and it puts me into a rage whenever i hear it. i am actually irritated that i even just read it.
What turns you on?

my in-laws watch it all the time. father-in-law goes on that website so he knows what's going on now, but my mum-in-law prefers to watch the episodes. when i visit for a cup of coffee, i'm often there when it's on so i know what's going on but i don't quite know the names yet. i respect the show...
i thought The Postman's ending was pretty crappy. The beginning and middle were so absorbing and thought provoking, then it ends in some GI Joe fight to the death. blech- what a disappointment
i've had that happen a few times as well. the one that i remember most vividly is:
i used to have a job where i drove a lot and one day i was driving on a long straight road with not too much traffic. a guy in a trans am comes up and cuts me off to get into the left turn lane. in canada, we...
