I don't think that Prostestant and Roman Catholic faith are the same!
Although both Protestants and Roman Catholics share the common ground of being founded upon faith in Jesus Christ, there are significant differences between the two groups.
However, the main distinction that sets them...
But fact is that half of the country voted for this conservative government so I would suspect that half of the country is conservative too. Wouldn't that make it less liberal?
  Where?
You know fact is that in Europe the countries have an overhelming majority of one religion (mostly Roman Catholic) and that's what coined us. In Austria there are 78% Roman Catholic, 5% Protestants and the rest consists in different minorities. We don't impose our...
Where Have Child Offenders Been Executed?
Although the vast majority of countries that still practice the death penalty have turned away from executing child offenders, children are still not totally safe from this outdated practice. Since 1990 Amnesty International has recorded 38 executions...
What about this little Guantanamo stuff? Don't you think that what the US is doing down there is pretty much illegal?
Let me see what else there is: frying kids and retarded people on the electric chair, can't vote properly, not allowed to drink alcohol till age 21 or in public, the Patriot...

Sometimes his book are really shocking and generally he writes horror but somtimes it's also kind of sience fiction (aliens, supernatural powers etc.). I read By the Light of the Moon and it wasn't much about horror either. :D
That's a good one and this little boy is so cute! The scene with the tatoo is my favourite.
...but as long as I'm here there will be no book burning on this forum. :D
Actually that's what I think => The USA is less free than for example countries in Europe! In the USA books are banned form (school) libraries (including The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Catcher in the Rye, Go Ask Alice or Flowers for Algernon), evolution isn't taught in some schools...
That's sad because I think this is a really good war film. Sure it shocks (I personally didn't have problems with it) but that's what war is all about. We tend to glorify it and I would appreciate all people to see this movie.
Concering kids => I think every "kid" which is allowed to stay up...
I just finished reading Still Life with Crows and in my opinion the whole book is crap. Look at the "I just finished reading" thread for more of my ravings.
Still Life with Crows - Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child
This one was really bad! I didn't like it at all.
I can't stand Spcial Agent Pendergast and the whole story was complicated, full of stereotypes and so dammed unrealistic (I know the last reason sounds stupid but I like stories which...
You really liked this one? I coudn't stand the end at all and I'm a huge Preston/ Child fan. It all seemed so unrealistic.
Relic is great but I love Attic too.
