I like Jeopardy, but whenever I watch it around here, I'm the only one spouting out any responses. Everyone else sits there with blank looks on their faces, waiting for the channel to change to Mtv or some reality show.
... so I don't watch it very often.
Yeah, give it some time and let him get things sorted out in his head.
I have an ex that used to give me the silent treatment all of the time, but it didn't work. I just used that "silent" time as an opportunity to do things on my own for a while and then she'd end up calling me to...
Only thing I ever hear of over here is World Cup Soccer. If I knew it was on, I might watch a little of it, but I'm not much of a sports enthusiast.
The only other things I might watch are curling, candlepin bowling, and stuff like that because they're different and unusual.
My plans for this past weekend were to wrap up a visit with in-laws in Montana after spending a couple of days in Yellowstone. Now I'm back home and have to go back to work tomorrow. :(
Yeah, something like that.
Webster's defines "child" as a young person especially between infancy and youth. That really clarifies things. Doesn't it? ;)
And an "Infant" is a child in the first period of life. It doesn't say exactly how long that first period is, though. Six months...
I'm working on two books at the moment...
Hunger of Memory by Richard Rodriguez, which I happened to see on a New Arrivals list at the library and thought might be interesting.
The Rape of Nanking by Iris Chang. It's about the massacre of 300,000 Chinese civilians (including a lot of...
Yep. On the page that you'll see via the link given above, look near the top just under "Book Club". There's a PDF file listing the books of 1878-2004.
As far as I know, the only thing that truly works is to be sure that you have a very sharp knife. A dull knife crushes the cells of the onion which releases the tear-causing agent (oils?). A sharp knife won't eliminate the tears, but will reduce them quite a bit.
No TV.
I guess I have a short attention span, because I really don't like to sit watching TV for very long. I watch the first ten minutes of the evening news about three times each week and watch a little TV before going to sleep at night because we have a TV in the bedroom and my wife likes...
;) Hehe!
With all of the above green avatars, makes me feel like I need a green one too. But I just changed mine a few days ago and this one hasn't lost its freshness yet.
Note: Someone is going to read this thread a few months from now when all of the avatars have changed, and...
Eh, it's a little big.
My wife frequents a scrapbooking forum, and whenever I see her reading the posts, I cringe because nearly everyone has some gigantic signature full of pictures.
I dunno. Something about the duckling in the 2nd photo, where he's about to fall through the grate. The lighting on that one doesn't look quite right. And it seems like the openings in the grate are a shade too small. Looks like if one started to fall through, either his chest would stop him...
I sincerely hope that the person who stood there taking the photos lifted the grate off the drain and fished the ducklings out.
Though it looks a little Photoshop-ish to me.
