Well damn!
BTW, I've been off visiting family in San Diego for the past week in case anyone wondered. Ahh... it's good to be home. Had a great time, but there's nothing like being in your own bed.
Unfortunately, it all has to be done and I was unable to get it done during the week. At least it feels good to have it all taken care of. I saw the bottom of the clothes hamper for the first time in months because I had previously done only as much as absolutely necessary.
My condolences.
My Monday was pretty nice except for the fact that I was really, really tired. Maybe I did too much this weekend. I did a couple of oil changes, tons of laundry, mowed the lawn, etc.
Just finished the book this morning. Am I the only one who thought that the dark fruit of the one tree on the algae island were going to be bats? I kept waiting for the "bat" to wake up and bite him on the thumb.
During the week, I do my reading for about half an hour before I end up falling asleep.
I do the rest of my reading on the weekends, early in the morning when everyone else is still asleep.
I used to read on the bus when I was taking mass transit to work. Reading on the bus is a decent...
I also would have to say that a book can't be too long, it can only be too boring.
I am another who failed to finish The Stand. I was in a Stephen King phase for a while, and it was the last book that I attempted to read. I read until I was about halfway through the book, then I either got...
I've been keeping my list of "books to read" on the local library's web site. As you search for books that you're interested in and see one you want to read sometime, you can click the "Make Booklist" button and add it to your list. I have about a dozen in there and occasionally take one off...
I've read the first nine books so far and have enjoyed them. There has been enough suspense to keep my interest. It also helps that it doesn't take long to read each book due to the amount of blank space on each page. It looks like the 12th book in the series is going to be ready for me...
Last time I posted in this thread, I was reading the 5th book in the Left Behind series and have since completed the 9th.
I'm currently reading Life of Pi by Yann Martel. I haven't really been sucked into it yet. I guess I'm in the dreaded religion portion of the book at the moment, about...
If tapeworms had nutritional value, and you had enough of them growing inside of you, could you sustain yourself by eating the bits that were expelled?
Hmm.. I suppose not. Since you'd be sustaining yourself and the tapeworms.
Food for though...
I was asking myself the same question when I was taking a class on Geography of Natural Vegetation. We had to choose a work of fiction that described vegetation. Then we compared the description of vegetation in the work to descriptions found in scientific journals. I wasn't at all excited...
Hehe... The "Dragon" within.
I was looking for a really nasty picture of someone expelling worms of some sort, but was making myself nauseous. So you've all been spared... today.
I hate subscribing to magazines because they always end up sitting on the coffee table, unread. But every once in a while, I succumb to the desire to subscribe.
I'm currently subscribed to...
Reader's Digest - Kept in the bathroom because it's great material for scanning through while...
I was taking pictures of some family members, so I happened to have my camera in hand when I looked over at the cat. After I snapped that photo, I thought "That's gonna be my new avatar!" Hehe!
Ahh.. I remember the good ol' days when one used to be able to view the commercials on AdCritic.com without having to pay. I hardly ever watch TV anymore, so when friends used to say "Did you see this ad...", I could go home and watch it on the 'net.
Hehehe... Squirrels.
My "golden time" is usually first thing in the morning on the weekends. I try to get up at 6:00 AM, and have been quite successful lately. The rest of my household normally sleeps until sometime between 9:00 and 11:00, so it's nice to have the quiet time to myself.
I usually spend the quiet...
