I recently read Pandora's Star by Peter Hamilton and thought it was fantastic so have the reality dysfunction novels in my 'save for later' list with Amazon - I though I would save them for my two week holiday in November so I can really get stuck in. Litany, thanks for the additional...
how can you say you hate reading Stephen King when you have read so many of his books? Or do you mean you hate him now, but used to like him when you were younger? If so, it is interesting that your tastes can change so much. I think I have 'outgrown' some authors but that has never...
I took it to mean white as in unhealthy. It follows on from :
Her hand tight in mine,
So cool, so pale;
I kissed it and stroked it,
So tender and frail.
Let me start by saying I know I am being unreasonable but it really really annoys me when I am on the train to/from work and two people insist on talking absolute crap really loudly right next to me. I can't concentrate on my book and end up reading the same paragraph over and over again...

Amazon delivery arrived - I bought:
Choke - Chuck Palahniuk
I, Lucifer - Glen Duncan
The Straw Men - Michael Marshall
The Hundred Secret Sense - Amy Tan
Mister Monday & Grim Tuesday - Garth Nix
Can't wait to get stuck into that lot. Also seems a good opportunity to say how many...
It occured to me that I have never come across a mention of this author on this forum which surprised me. I thought 'Enduring Love' was fantastic but struggled a bit with Amsterdam and Atonement. Anyone have any views on this author?
Well I did get around to reading Lirael and Abhorsen and I thought they were both excellent. Not sure why others found Abhorsen to be slow - I thought the pacing was fine. Sabriel is more of a stand alone but I would definately recommend reading the other 2 one after the other - they would...
Took me a little while to figure out the dialogue thing myself :D I am not starting the 'how quickly do you read' debate again but I think I had extra difficulty with this style of writing because I do read quickly and I think it would definately help to take your time with this one. Having...
