Getting the Most Out of Reading

Yah, reading does boost your ability to examine words and their relationships, but you need to read a wide variety over a pretty large period of time. I miean, if you don't read and just spend your time studying the way words work, what good is that in a test that, well, that is on reading?

How do you listen to music?

I wasn't accusing you of being a Kelly Clarkson fan, i was just using it as an example that some music has clear, repetitive lyrics, while other Loud, Undeciphercable Random lyrics.

    How good is your reading?

I agree somewhat with DireStraits. if you try and absorb information and word relationships from a book it's going to seep out og your head when you get caught up in the ploy anyway :P lol, but I think that it would actually be a pretty good idea to study the words and things from a book you've...

What do you do with a book you've read?

when I'm done with a book, I simply put it on my almost filled book shelf. My mother, however threw any paperback in the garbage when I was a kid! I wouldn't have wanted them since they were all romance but I told her she could've at least donated them to some fund.

What's the name of this book? (stumped)

    Well, I can't be sure but I read the begining on one of the Wrinkle in Time books a while ago and it sounds somewhat like that. I do remember that the author however was Madeleine L'Engle. I could be wrong cause I had only read the begining of the book! ^^;;

How do you listen to music?

I guess it has alot to do with the style of music right? I mean if your a kelly Clarkson fan, sure, listen to the lyrics! You could probably pick them out of the song after a few times hearing it, and they're easy to remember. If your an AC/DC fan, you might understand some of the songs' lyrics...

    Tsumani Spin Effect

Yah....A very disturbing thought is that if this one volcano is nearing it;s end, how long until others do? Hey, is anybody else looking forward to seeing photographs of the Oceans Surface now? Some plates shifted 24 Miles I think! Tahts what i heard at least...lol

Getting the Most Out of Reading

What I'm saying is that you might as well read the dictionary then read a novel if what your looking for is word relationships etc. The ditionary's about a Aardvark that ended up in a zoo, but a novel has a much bigger plot! (lol) I really don't see why you'd read a novel to understand words if...

    wow...so cheap

I'm fine with that CD stuff as long as it's licensed. Some people type up books and post them on the net, regardless of Copyright laws after all.

how do YOU find books to die for??

Well, i dunno the code for it, but theres a way to make the words look like they're sensored unless you highlight them! ^^

    How good is your reading?

I'd ay if you gave me a book boring enough that I'd want to analyze word relationships, I'd do pretty good! ^^

Getting the Most Out of Reading

Why understand word relationships while you could just enjoy the novel? Want a in-depth understanding of words, pick up a Languge Arts study book or something like that!
