Ever walk out of a movie?

I have never walked out of a movie, but came awful close once. My brother and I saw "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover" and almost walked.

A question for parents of small children

No. And I won't when it comes to that time. My son is only three weeks old but already I have been looking into BOOKS ;) that will do the same thing as those videos. And I will be sitting in a chair with my son and read them with him. (Obviously I will be reading them to him at first.)...

    The Worst of 2005

Wow! That bad Peder? Stewart had it on his list, too. And I was thinking about reading it soon. Even suggested it for a Book Club I belong to. I might re-think that.

    The Worst of 2005

Surprised to see "Perdido Street Station" on a list. But then again if we all had the same taste it would be boring around here. ;) My addition to the list would be "Black" by Ted Dekker. It is the first book of a trilogy. It actually started the second book ("Red"), but it only got worse.

    BMW confirms Villeneuve

I didn't follow F1 this year, but I read an article online (I believe at TSN's site) that a publication had a vote from it's readers and chose Kimi as "Driver of the Year" over Alonso. I plan on watching it next year. It was nice to see someone other then Schumacher win the title. Though I...

    BMW confirms Villeneuve

Been a while since I followed it. The last year I was serious was the second of Schumacher's Ferrari titles. Seems to be interesting that BMW is going out on their own. Who's supplying engines for Williams now? (And yes, I think Jacques is a good pick for anyone putting together a team.)

Hey Ice Hockey Fans !!!!! Deal?

Yes, it is a nice site. Not mine though. It is the brain child of Clark (Yzerfan19 in the forums). I am just a contributor for some articles.

Hey Ice Hockey Fans !!!!! Deal?

Yeah, I saw it live. Was watching the game courtesy Center Ice. It was freakin' scary. Didn't know who it was, or even if it was a player. When they were showing them performing CPR, you could see a red jersey, but of course it could have been a fan that fell. The good thing was that the...

Can't remember the name of it

Just dumb luck that I knew it. A friend had that on their Christmas gift suggestion list. Glad I could help.

Can't remember the name of it

Could it be Frank McCourt "Teacher Man: A Memoir"?

Old Christmas Threads (gifts, well wishes, etc)

The one Christmas that sticks out in my mind first was actually a Christmas Eve. This was when I was still living at home, just before moving out (I had to have been 21-22), and both my younger brothers and younger sister were still at home. We didn't do anything special that year like we...

Old Christmas Threads (gifts, well wishes, etc)

I have never read Garth Nix, but I know that many adults enjoy his work. Given that Nix and the HP books are not traditional fantasy, I would suggest "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman. Even "Stardust" by Gaiman. Though I am not sure about language, meaning swearing. I know the f-bomb, though...

Hey Ice Hockey Fans !!!!! Deal?

Yes, actually I did miss the last two periods and OT. I cover some of the Red Wings games for a web site, so I was watching them look terrible against the Flames last night. The Flyers are still looking strong. Hard to defend against opening up the offense like that (being that in the old...

Hey Ice Hockey Fans !!!!! Deal?

Funny, but I only saw the last 3 minutes of that game. We had our book club discussion that night, and then turned the game on to see the score. Very cool way to end the night.

Hey Ice Hockey Fans !!!!! Deal?

Good timing Moto. I saw him come in, too. So we have our first major trade of the season. Or I should say "in-season." Sergei Fedorov has been traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Good move for the Jackets. They need the offensive help, even if Fedorov doesn't produce like he used to.

    Holiday Plans and Preparations

Catered in Mexican, oh yeah! My wife would love that. :) But seriously, what I meant by that was people just stopping by to say hi or spend time with us. I am not making any qualms about the fact that we are not doing anything fancy for the holidays. The people that we usually get gifts...

    Holiday Plans and Preparations

Well, my wife was originally due to deliver on December 16th, so we didn't make any plans. We usually go to see my family and leave the day after Christmas (10 hour drive), while spending Christmas with her family. But this year we are staying put. Everyone is coming to see us. :p The good...

    what do you know about...

I have only read Coover's "The Universal Baseball Association, Inc., J. Henry Waugh, Prop.". Being a baseball fan, and one that in my youth had dice games of the sport, and even participate in fantasy leagues, it was pretty good. It had a strong start and was well paced, but at the end it got...

    Monster Jam Wheelie Book

I'll have to keep this one in mind when my son gets old enough. Thanks for the suggestion.
