VHS sucks in quality. I don't buy movies but I have a collection of porn. Dvd is brilliant - it doesn't wear out with repeated plays and pauses, and my player has a zoom function.
Perfect.
I'd recommend Sarah Dunant's Transgressions. I haven't seen this book discussed much except in the heavy sunday papers. It's a very well written thriller, IMO: an intelligent "page turner".
I started making a list, as I think I said on this thread before. Now I wish I hadn't started it, becuase it's turning into some kind of obsession.
Crap horror is the best horror. I like old b&w horror films, and Hammer Horror films. Some of the newer films that don't take themselves too seriously are quite enjoyable. Serious horror though, just leaves me cold on the whole.
Paul Auster's New York Trilogy. I think it's a classic, anyway.
And the more i think about it, Nevil Shute's On the Beach. I recently finished it, and it's kind of haunting me right now.
So you're saying that if i think up something really gross, that hasn't been done before (and believe me, I could do that, because I'm a pervert :)), and call it 'art', then it is art?
