I agree dermot, I thought the books were ok, but they concentrated too heavily on action and they ended too quickly, this is why i am not a big fan of childrens fiction- most of it is too short :D There is a plus side to these books though, it introduced many children, especialy boys, to reading.
Why would I want to...
Come on now, even if it was remotely within the law, why would I want to marry a video game series? It really would not be a clever idea, and the spirits within was not a bad movie!
I suppose that, Dragonlance aside, my favourite characters would be Kazaril from the Shadowleauge Series by Maggie Furey and probably Pug, because in the book we see him getting gradually more powerful, oh yes, and he is all- round cool :D
I refer to this point. Snape is the best potions teacher there is really, despite being a tad evil, so there would be little point replacing him with a different teacher, but you could be right Dermot, there could be an exception in dire circumstances. Finally, I wouldnt trust that greasy little...

Both of them
I think i actually like 1st and 3rd, I agree honeydevil you do "connect" with the main character I forgot how good across the nightingale floor was
Which Prespective Do You Prefer, 1st person or 3rd?
Personally I prefer third person as it allows the writer to shift from one character to another or from one place to another and many writers use this to great effect, eg Maggie Furey. I think that first person books can be limited in their...
Fuzzfas
If we are including rpg characters I would have to say Fuzzfas from sirtech's Wizardry 8 here is my favourite quote;
"...and when they're not looking, evrythings free!"
the way he says it is halarious, if you have the game go to trynton and ask him about the Higardi.
