But my horse is AMAZING! I'm sorry, but I still get a chuckle out of that.
Phone books.
If you work in an office, does it have a door that you close and, if so, does that deter anyone from entering?
Ouch!
20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill is second only to The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald on my ultimate hate list.
Worst song you've ever heard?
It really surprised me that I didn't like it because I am a HUGE fan of Stephen King. He has been one of my favorite authors (and the only contemporary one) for over a decade. To dislike one of his books was shocking to me. I will admit that the last time I tried to read it I went into it...
I've attempted to read it three times now and always end up putting it down and reading something else. Something about it just doesn't appeal to me. I plan on reading it again since it has been a few years, so maybe the fourth time is a charm.
I agree. Though I really didn't enjoy Gerald's Game, I really did love Insomnia and I just finished 11/22/63 and, though I found it to be a great deal outside of his usual writing style - not as creepy - I did enjoy reading it.

I know it's seems strange, but you should really read Edgar Allan Poe. He is the definition of macabre. Once you get use to the oddness of his prose due to the common language uses when he wrote, I think you will find him as frightening and exciting as King and Lovecraft. Just a suggestion.
