Hi Marycathie. I'm a huge fan of the fantasy genre as well. I'll give you a list of my favorites. If you want any more information on them you can PM me or just reply.
1) A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin
A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows

If you're looking for a great fantasy/SF novel, I'd recommend Elantris by Brandon Sanderson. I'm really bad at summarizing, so I'd just look it up on Amazon if you're interested. It's basically about 3 characters, Raoden, Sarene and Hrathen who interact with a city called Elantris-which has gone...
I go with A Wizard of Earthsea, though RobertM's book does sound insightful. I think I've seen it at my local Starbucks of all places-I might have to pick it up. My dad read Clan of the Cave Bear and loved it. I haven't though so I can't give you my opinion.

I've only read the first couple volumes of the manga but watched the whole anime. It's a sweet story and very fun.
2. Fruits Basket
Cursed zodiac members turning into...
Granted, but you can hear everyone's thoughts...and they're really things you DON'T want to hear..and there's no 'off' switch. You become depressed and isloate yourself in your house ordering take-out for the rest of your life.
I wish that my teachers would let me assign all the books for...
Granted, but you lose it after only one week of work because your boss discovers you reading novels when you're supposed to be writing important meeting discussions. And no, he won't give you a good recommendation...
I wish I could get straight A's without doing a bit of studying... wouldn't...
The only Chick Lit that I've really read is Something Borrowed and the sequel, Something Blue by Emily Giffin. They were pretty good-light and humorous reads. I was talking to my boss (he's a bookstore owner :)) about this very thing yesterday and he said that this genre is on the rise. Stuff...
Granted, but somehow the school administrator makes an error in trying to work in a study hall for you and deletes all your classes. You aren't allowed to go to class and have to stay in a small, cramped room with only educational materials. Of course, your textbooks are gone. You're not in...
Speaking of Terry Goodkind, I have a trade paberback version of The Pillars of Creation which has a passage:
Here, though, 6, 7, 8where they felt safe, they had stayed for over two years.
I don't know what's up with that:confused: :p
