guess the tale game - round 2

So his turn was next? And he didn't do it, because they were rescued? Others were angry because they sacrified their arms, so he did it also as recompensation?

    Alexandre Dumas: The Three Musketeers

And if you were to vote for your favourite (or the less annoying :D ) Musketeer, whom would you choose? I'd definitively Athos.

    Alexandre Dumas: The Three Musketeers

Well, but it's a crucial change to her character. Maybe Dumas wanted to convey a message by creating such characters?

    Alexandre Dumas: The Three Musketeers

I think that in Monte Christo characters were more tragic, while Musketeers are more comic. However, Monte Christo's plot was IMO a little overcomplicated. It's funny how films change the Three Musketeers- Richelieu is really very bad and is punished in the end, Milady and Athos are tragic...

    Alexandre Dumas: The Three Musketeers

I wonder whether Dumas was aware that his characters tend to be obnoxious or thought that there were "cool"? Or maybe that is the way he peceived people living at that times?

    Snape: a question

ITA, and let's not forget thay he constantly helps Harry, who never bothered himself to thank Snape, nor he felt bad about wrong suspitions for him. Not to mention intruding his private memories...

Kevin Bacon - The Centre of Hollywood

I tried various Polish actors and they all worked (including Eugeniusz Bodo, who was killed in 1940). However, Jorge Enrique Abello didn't :) I've won! :D By the way, in many cases I had link through Colin Firth and the film from 2005. Is it fair play?

    Alexandre Dumas: The Three Musketeers

I've been wondering about Richelieu in this book. Is he really bad? In the end he even seems to like the Musketeers...In films is usually different- he is punished.

    Snape: a question

I wouldn't say that he bullies them- yes, is strict, severe, and unfair, but he does no harm apart from sarcastic words. And I disagree about Rickman- he is great actor, well chosen for that part, but people don't like Lucius Malfoy, because of Jason Isaacs. My favourite scenes with him are in...

J.K. Rowling: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Yes, but I heard explanation that in Britain children born September- December can go to school a year later (which may also apply to Hermione). Well, if it turned out that Dumbledore on purpose lied...for example, he did so, when he explained to Harry reasons of Snape for hate to his father. I...

J.K. Rowling: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

It's not that I'm sure of it, I only don't exclude this possibility. If I was to bet my money, I would guess that Dumbledore will be killed off. It's more teenager book that children, so death of the hero wouldn't be so inappropriate. We saw examples of his making mistakes, hiding the truth...

J.K. Rowling: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Well, I imagine Harry's death...after Cedric's and Sirius's (unless theory "Sirius lives!" is true :p ). Remember that these books are getting darker and darker. I'm not sure about Harry, but we certainly will see more deaths, not only of minor or evil characters. I only don't believe that it...

guess the tale game - round 2

It didn't help much... :( Was this 5th man able to come to the meeting? Was he invited? Was he too far away to come?

J.K. Rowling: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

I think it has to do with the prophecy: and either must die at the hand of the other, for neither can live while the other survives... It could be understood that both will die or only one of them. If it was the first case, then it would enabling the final battle. (Of course, if Harry is...
