So I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday, and now I'm wondering... Did the French not translate the original names (for example, Charlie in Dutch is Sjakie) or was the translator for the movie extremely lazy and didn't bother with using the translated names?

I've seen the first season. It has its moments, but I have to say it's not my favourite show.

Yeah, I noticed that too. There probably are more holes like that... On the whole, I liked the book. I was, however, a bit disappointed by the ending. Not necessarily , but the way Rowling wrapped it up and the last page, really. I also think she rushed some things.

I don't mind people opening up new threads, but I do believe using the search function is a must, especially when talking about specific books/authors. When I remember a thread that's relevant to what the user is asking, I usually do a quick search and add a couple of links. I never considered...
