I watched Conan O'Brien again the other day after years of not watching anything, and he's just not funny anymore, if you ask me. The show still has its moment, but that's mostly due to the people on the show, not Conan.

It works great. I've seen it done on other fora, even on bigger ones. That's the idea, yes. You'd also be free to just start a conversation there and talk to whoever else is online.

Why not open a banter thread and then when a conversation is in danger of going too much off topic, you can continue the conversation there?
