    Americano Culture

Munster makes a mean grilled cheese...and it melts great (no grease from that one, either).

    Americano Culture

American cheese is nasty. Many people do buy their cheese pre-packaged as individual slices. I am not one of these people, but I did use to work in a deli, so I recognize the difference between real cheese and American cheese. 1. 'round here we don't take off our shoes when entering the...

    How well read are you?

I've probably read around 1,000...that's because I did not read very much during my first four years of college (I was an engineer, this does not require much reading). Like Wabbit, to truly be well-read it will take a while, though I have made some dent as far as English literature. Judging...

    Aaah! Lost bookmark!

You have to get the right metal bookmark for them to work. Those with curvy shapes seem to work best. Even better if they have some sort of tassel tied at the top.

    poirot or holmes

I feel exactly opposite. I wonder if one's opinion depends on which they read first...I read all of the Holmes' mysteries years and years and years ago, but I only got to Poirot about a year or so ago. Holmes, to me, seems logical, whereas Poirot just seems arrogant. It could be that I just...

    Dear Santa

When your birthday is also in December (as mine is) you start making a list early. The rest of you lucky people don't have to plan for everything at once.

    poirot or holmes

I'll definitely vote for Holmes. Poirot irritates me to no end.

I just took a break from the internet, which is why I disappeared. Perhaps they are doing the same?

Who wants to see the hobbit?

I agree with you on all counts. Whenever movies become big star fests they usually suck, and I'd hate to see that happen to The Hobbit. Peter Jackson did a fantastic job with LOTR, and I would definitely love to see him put together The Hobbit. I do believe that the actor who played Gandalf...

Some more Dickens & The Count of Monte Cristo come to mind straight off.
