I thought Luna was an interesting addition to the cast of characters. I think there's more to her that we'll discover in the books to come. As far as Hermione and Harry...I don't think she was jealous at all about Harry's relationship with Cho. I think she honestly wanted to give Harry a...
Interesting question. I haven't been to the eye doc lately, but I think I'm nearsighted, which doesn't affect my favorite hobby. I guess I'm lucky that way.
I know I'm a bit late responding to this but, like, wow, funes! I'm exactly the same! Do you think they're a support group out there for us?
I must say I'm curious about what you do that you can read while at work.
I think the MR was just a collection of fight scenes connected by a little bit of dialog. Nothing much was learned. The story didn't progress very much. That being said, I enjoyed it, even though I agree with most of your points, Morry and Idun. The orgy scene made us humans seem a bit...
I may be totally wrong here, but could it be the Philip K. Dick short story, Ubik? It's been awhile since I've read it, but I do remember the apartment not letting the protagonist out because he is behind in the rent. That's just the beginning of the story, though and he does get out, with...
Tad William's Memory, Sorrow and Thorn is a great trilogy and is similiar. It does have at least one dragon in it, but that's not the main focus. It's well written and grand in scope. Young boy is forced into an adventure to save the world and becomes a man. It's one of my favorites.
Harry Potter was a springboard for my boys. I'm very grateful for that. They don't turn up their noses at books anymore and, I think, they understand now why I love to read. It's true, however that's it's difficult for me to get them to try anything new. Thankfully, though, they will try a...
I tend to drop them wherever I can find a spot. On top the armoise in the bedroom, up on the bedroom closet self, on the living room side table. I try to box them up occasionally to make room for more.
Are you serious?
If so, let me say this, if a child is old enough to read Harry Potter then, in my opinion, that child is old enough to know the difference between the real and the imaginary. My son read the first HP when he was 8. I would think that kids rarely read HP younger than that...
I use WordPerfect at work and Word 97 at home. I used to hate WP but now I see it's advantages. I'm still a Word person at heart, although I think it could be improved.
Oops, I meant to say "tech-talk". Anyway, if you are already discourged by the sci-fi jargon, then beware. I was thrown toward the end of the book with trying to keep track. The story is good enough to be told without the heavy handed tech speak. But I really like Bear, so I waded through it.
