I own around 100 books personally, and most would fall into either SFF or Historical Fiction.

The easiest way is the check inside the title page, as Peronel suggested. Just watch for reprintings - it could be a second reprinting but in the same year as the original printing.

I think that A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess would be considered a horror, but I'm sure that someone will correct me on that :p It's a brilliant book!

I agree with Dr. if it is a diary-style blog, but I'm intent on keeping my blog updated as an online list of the books I have read this year. It's so much easier to be able to cut and paste rather than type them all out at once for things like "Books you have read this month" etc.
