If the stories contained in the Bible are correct, than JC's claim is more plausible because he proved his claim through "miracles". Things like walking on water, raising people from the dead, healing the sick, enabling cripples to walk again etc etc.
Then again, if you don't believe what is...
What an excellent point.
I'm with Stewart on this one. I find the average American's need for guns to be both confusing and disturbing - what need is there for a gun if you don't live on a farm, or something of the sort? Gun control needs to be far better, there's no doubt about that.
The book I recommend most often is probably Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood. It's a brilliant book - easy to read with an intriguing plot. It's a book that most would enjoy, I believe, especially as the future it paints for the Earth is very possible indeed.
Thanks for the explination - I find it fascinating to learn the different way people do things in other countries. We had compulsory PE in primary school and for the first 2 years of high school, although this period was built into the school day and so was at various times. We had it about 3...
That's such a wierd way to have it! I've always had morning tea (recess) at about 11 and then lunch at 12:30 - having it around the other way doesn't make sense
Our school canteen (a canteen is basically a little shop - we don't do the whole cafeteria thing here) made that change this year. Lollies, fizz, hot chips, potato chips etc were replaced with juices, muslei bars, rice balls and sandwiches. The teachers have been commenting on the change in...

The Farseekers by Isobelle Carmody
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan
One for the Money by Janet Evanovich
Yet another slow month for me :(
Thanks for the reply - I'll definitely be picking up the next in the series now, especially as someone who has enjoyed the series shares my views on some of the downfalls of One for the Money.
I don't think that having gay parents affects the development of the child. If anything, it teaches them tolerance for the different. I'm all for gay rights.
I read One for the Money yesterday after hearing so many great things about this series. As far as chick lit goes, this book was one of the best that I have read - however when talking generally, I found it to be good, but not great. I have never really liked chick lit so maybe that's why I...
Ah, thanks Gem! I've been wondering for a long time how to pronounce that. My sister is in love with a band called Panic! At the Disco and they get a lot of lyrics from his books, so previously whenever we talked about him we'd say his last name as a kind of mushed-up nothing :o :D
Comments like these are the reason for the talk of other conflicts, at least on my part:
These comments needed to be addressed. The best way to do this was to show that Muslims weren't alone in overracting, and that they aren't that different from other groups all over the world; that...
