I have no problem with people knowing about my blog, though I don't make a point of telling people about it offline. I don't really post anything too personal, anyway, and I tend not to post even first names of people I refer to (unless they're public figures).
I'm reading Daniel Boorstin's "The Americans: The National Experience" (the middle book in his American history trilogy) and Douglas Brode's "The Films of Steven Spielberg".
I used to read one book at a time, and even now I sometimes pick one up and put it down only when I'm finished. But usually I have three or four going -- something funny, something educational, something movie-related, etc.
Forgot to mention Marion Zimmer Bradley in my initial post -- I particularly like her Mists of Avalon, as well as its two prequels (The Forest House, Lady of Avalon).
High school was a looooooong time ago, so I can't remember most of the titles. Here are the ones I do recall:
Positive
Shakespeare (various) - I love plays, period
The Glass Menagerie - ditto
Oedipus Rex - ditto
Catcher in the Rye - hit a chord, alienated teenager that I was (though...
I love watching baseball, and don't mind watching the occasional (American) football game. As for doing things, I like walking, snowshoeing, the occasional kayak or hike, and Wiffleball. :D
It's in my genes, like black hair and brown eyes. ;) Seriously, I've been reading as long as I can remember too. Library trips were one of the best fun parts of childhood.
I usually try to group things by author and/or subject. If my books wouldn't keep multiplying and overrunning all the shelf space, the system would work perfectly. :D
I tend to buy mine, though when I was taking classes I used the university library quite a bit. I should go to the library more often ... maybe after I've gotten through the backlog of all the stuff I bought and/or received as presents (which at my current rate will be in about twenty years).
