    Hardback or paperback?

Definitely paperback for me, too. You can fit more of them on a shelf or a backpack. :)

    Current Non-Fiction reads

Right now I have two nonfiction books going: Producing & Directing the Short Film and Video, which is very thorough without being overly technical Impossible Dreams, a collection of articles about the Red Sox that's illuminating, entertaining, and (for Boston baseball fans) depressing

    Do you understand Harry Potter?!

Usually I've been able to guess things from context. I've also read other books by British authors, which makes it more likely that I'll recognize words.

Books you were forced to read at school!

Off the top of my head: Oedipus Rex Hamlet Diary of Anne Frank Great Expectations (class voted for that instead of mythology, boo-hiss!) Animal Farm Catcher in the Rye

    Terry Pratchett

I like Pratchett too. So far I've read The Color of Magic, Mort (probably my favorite -- I like what he's done with Death), Eric, The Truth, and Feet of Clay.

    BBC's The Big Read - Top 100

I've read 34 on the list (HP and Terry Pratchett counted for quite a few). Of the American titles, "To Kill A Mockingbird" would definitely be on mine, not sure about the others.

Hello and welcome! :) I haven't read any recent Grishams, just a couple of the early ones ("The Firm," "The Pelican Brief," and "The Client").

    Harry Potter around the World

He's quite famous in the States (folks lined up here too). And both movie adaptations have done pretty well at the box office.

    Hi

Hey, I'm rooting for the Cubs too. Wouldn't a Boston-Chicago series be great? :)

Suggestion: tell us where you're from

I've been to a couple of baseball games and one hockey game ... unfortunately the ticket prices are high, so it's too expensive to go regularly. And for Martin -- I'm not a Londoner, but I visited there a couple of months ago. As far as less well-known landmarks go, I liked the Cabinet War...
