Actually, it's turning out to be a plus. People are slamming her for that review and my website is getting more hits than ever. I haven't checked sales yet, but I'll let you all know.
No, I don't know her or know who she is. It's kind of puzzling why she would put a review up for my book when she's only reviewed books about knitting socks before.
I have no idea if Amazon will remove reviews. This is hardly my first bad review, I entered that same novel in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel contest and, after stellar reviews in the first two rounds, was eliminated by a reviewer that basically said I, being a white man, had no right to write...
I know authors shouldn't respond to reviews, so I won't, but I'd like to share this review I received on Amazon.com after a recent kindle book giveaway. It's referring to my novel "...and Remember that I Am a Man." - a historical novel about slavery.
Call me when you figure out that this...
I'm offering two of my historical novels, "...and Remember that I Am a Man." and Slave Boy, free on Kindle this weekend Feb. 8th, 9th, and 10th. I'm doing this because I'm to be a guest presenter for Civil War Living History Days this weekend at Museum of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, NC...
Since this is an excerpt, it's hard to critique. If it's the start of a book, it's a huge infodump of backstory, which might put the reader off because he/she is waiting for the story to start. However, you did make it amusing by having the quirky character relate it as if written in a journal...
You want a review of an idea? Okay.
This is just another post-apocalypse society and I don't see anything original about it. But that doesn't matter, because it depends on how well the novel is written an how interesting your characters are, etc. And why do all new writers think someone is...
I disagree. It's "published author" that can't be used as a label for a self-publisher. I've had four books published by small press, but had to resort to self-pubbing my historical novels since no agents or small publishers were interested.
My latest historical novel, Necessary Evil, will the the spotlight book tomorrow, Oct. 2, on Indie Author Anonymous. It will also be available as a FREE Kindle download on Oct. 2nd and 3rd on Amazon:

Thanks, Peder,
If you'd like to learn more about southern history, Univ. of North Carolina's Docsouth is the place to go. They archive all the written data and images they can get. Here's a link to the Moses Grandy story, but I'd suggest you read it AFTER my novel, since it's a total spoiler...
I'm giving away free kindle editions of my historical novel, "...and Remember that I Am a Man." on Sunday & Monday, Sept. 9 & 10.
"...and Remember that I Am a Man.": John Bushore: Amazon.com: Books
“…AND REMEMBER THAT I AM A MAN.” is the story of a man who fights his enslavement with dignity...
I managed to plow through it. It wanders, offers no new insights, and is full of inconsistencies. It failed to catch my interest in any way. Sorry.
