I'm very sorry there are no existing antonyms to those words. Her teacher should be paddled.
Wolfwraith - Paranormal murder mystery
Why is someone - or something - killing campers and staff in remote False Cape State Park?
Autopsies reveal the victim's throats have been torn out by a large canine. Locals recall a colonial-times legend of a "wolfwraith."

My historical novel, set in and around the Great Dismal Swamp in the early 1800's, is the story of the life and times of Moses Grandy. Based on the 1843 narrative, The Life of Moses Grandy, it explores the cultural, religious and economic pressures allowing slavery to endure in a new country...
Yes. Go looking for information. Google "publishing - educational books" and you'll get lists of publishers who handle that field. That should get you started.

I hope these typos are not in the published version. In addition, I feel this is an over-long set-up for a story, rather chatty. Good luck with your new publishing venture (but you have a few typos on your site, as well.)
Take care,

No one has mentioned Amazon's CreateSpace. It's a way to get your book in PRINT without spending any money upfront. Even the ISBN is free. You only pay for copies you purchase (there is no minimum) and they're quite low-priced for the author, so he/she can make a decent buck on sales he makes...
I downloaded it. A first time writer's guide, written by that famous, anonymous author Infinite Ideas, with no bio, tells the aspiring writer all the secrets to getting published. It was well worth the price. I especially liked the part about glossing over agents and submitting directly to...
Very nice. It's important that all "sides" of the war have their stories told. I enjoyed reading it. I also took a look at your bio on Wiki. Very impressive. Thanks for posting.
Take care,

As it relates to my post about how to get noticed, I thought I'd tell you what I'm trying (Thank you, Stewart, for advice). I've begun blogging at MonkeyJohn's Blog. The experimental part is that I'm not primarily blogging about my writing, but about my experiences living of the edge of the...
Stewart,
Thanks for your timely advice. I was planning to use this holiday period, since I'm off from work, to promote. I took your advice and started blogging at MonkeyJohn's Blog but I'm not blogging about writing. Instead, I'm writing about my life on the edge of the Great Dismal Swamp...
David,
You sent your MS to publishers? Most major publishers won't look at anything unless you have an agent, so you should be querying agents, probably.

It's a good start and well-written. Minor nits - disastrously misspelled - and I think the last sentence should be: She tried to remember if horses had always done that.
The Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award is legit. I've entered the last two years, but didn't get past the semi-finals. It also...
I listen to audio books quite a bit and, at the end of Speaker for the Dead, Card was interviewed. I heard it a few months back, and, if memory serves, he stated that Ender's Game was written to set up Speaker, which is a far more complex book in a complex trilogy. He was amazed at the way...
This is a good start. You bring the reader right into the scene, and leave enough mystery about the father to make the reader wonder. You didn't ask for detailed critique, and I realize this is first draft, but it needs some polishing.
The main thing is, you started writing it and as the...
I'm not responding to any quote in particular, but there ARE a few other options. I believe the traditional writer-agent-publisher route is best, however.
IF your writing is technically good enough (grammar, spelling, etc.), IF your plotting, characterization, dialogue and other basic story...
