In Minnesota they have what is called "graduated licensing". You can get a permit at 15, a provisional license at 16, and a full license at 18, granted you meet a number of conditions at each stage.

As a stuffy old parent I don't see anything wrong with curfews. I don't see a purpose to teens being out after 10 or 11 PM just to hang out with friends. Where I live: anyone under 12 is not to be out from 9 PM - 5 AM sunday through thurs; friday and saturday it's from 10 PM - 5 AM...

Do you know anyone that has a child in child care? A child care center would be a good place to find stories. Not only could some of those parents offer you their stories but they might be able to hook you up with doctors, nurses, grandparents, etc.
