Not enough procrastination material today - where were you!?!?!

I was busy making caramel rolls: make the dough, raise the dough, punch the dough, rest the dough, roll out the dough, fill the dough, roll up the dough, cut the dough, make the caramel sauce, bake, rest, eat, whew!. After all that I ran to the post office, came home, read a manga, then made...

    what's everyone up to today?

Let's see. Today I'm: sitting on my bum, making rolls (because it's always fun to bake during high humidity and higher temps), and procrastinating on starting two LJ communities (really boring topics - wouldn't do to ask).

    what's everyone up to today?

I'm debating whether or not to make some pizza crust - part of which would be for a pizza today, the rest of which would be frozen for later. Oh wait . . . I'm expecting company this afternoon . . . and I don't at all recall when they are arriving.

    Is this right?

I agree with all the articles that I've read - this is going to open the door to a lot more abuses. I'm too lazy to register for yet another online paper I'll never really read - but one article I read stated a few incidents of abuse, such as a used car lot that was seized and sold to the...

Dragonlance- please look at this thread!

Dragonlance Nexus - this site has a lot of information on deciding what order to read the books. I would read through once before checking out any of the links. If you scroll down a bit there is a suggested order for reading - at least a very good starting point. Hope this helps anyone...

What do you do with quotes?

I write down quotes on whatever is handy and then typically don't find them again until years later. :)

    what's everyone up to today?

Or I'm looking for people that love food as much as I do.

    Blogging and Privacy

I like a certain amount of privacy. I don't want people I may know in real life knowing what I write online, either on my LJ or on forums. I seldom use the same user names across the internet - I don't want people from other forums knowing where else I post. On some forums I eventually...

So what do you tell your kids now?

Like I said, nothing is so black and white. Rigid rules of protection aren't what children need. What they need is sound guidance. They need to know that if someone hurts them, no matter who they are, that they need to tell someone. They need to understand who all they can go to when they...

    Internet Lurrrve.

Sure you can string a person along face to face but you are limited in the ways you can deceive them. A 17 yr old boy can't pretend to be in his 30's except online. A female can't pretend to be a male except online. You can't disguise your weight or physical appearance except for online...

So what do you tell your kids now?

I can't tell you exactly what I'll tell my son but nothing is ever so black and white that a child should "never" talk to someone they don't know.

    land of the dead

It looks quite a bit different from the other "Dead" movies - so much so that I keep thinking that I'm misunderstanding what I'm seeing (and maybe I am).

Why is it so bloody hard ..

I would recommend Time Bandits to anyone who likes Monty Python.

Dragonlance- please look at this thread!

I've read the Dragonlance Chronicles trilogy and the Dhamon Saga (trilogy). I haven't read any other books because I can never find all the books to complete a set, not at the bookstore or at the library. I'll have to buy them online if I want to read more. Everyone else hates Dhamon but...

Want to know how many wpm you read? Click here!

I wouldn't say that I hurry through a book, I simply go with the flow. Someone had said (not sure if it was in this thread) something to the effect that you wouldn't fast forward a movie because you were enjoying more than another. Well neither would you watch the movie in slow motion to savor...

To read or not to read. That is the question.

It depends on what I don't like about the book. Typically if I like the story but hate the writing I will try to finish the book. If the first chapter or three don't hook me, interest me, excite me . . . then I won't likely finish it.

    what's everyone up to today?

I'm being tired and crabby. I need to go shopping. Am I only posting in this thread when I need to go shopping?

    Internet Lurrrve.

I fell for someone online . . . and had my heart and ability to trust ripped to shreads. I'm not over him or what he did to me though I suppose I should be. It's not worth getting into the details. Some people can lie very well for a very long time, like 3 or 4 years.

Oh my... I missed my celebration!

Happy belated 1000 posts. I hope you like banana bread, cuz that's what I'm making you. I'll be sure to eat it for you before it gets stale too.

    Pointless question time!

Can you also do the one where you start by lightly grabbing your nose with your right hand and your right ear with your left hand, then switch so that you are grabbing your nose with your left hand and your left ear with your right hand?
