Good grief, I can't believe I'm reading this series. The first book happened to be in the only box of books that I opened, while the rest are still packed away awaiting the purchase of some shelves. I know that if I open one of the others I won't see carpet for a month.
So I started reading...
True story...
Today I walked into a bookshop. I found the specific book I wanted. And I left the bookshop without buying it. And then I went into another book shop. Found a fabulous book that I've been wanting for ages. And I also didn't buy it.
Self control, baby!!!!!!! Both were classics...
Why, thank you. Should I ever find myself with the Mr T's credit card, I'll remember you said that...
A quick think-through gives me ten GOOD friends. People I would tell anything and everything. Friends who I can not talk to for months and come back to and it's the same. It's many more than I...
Purchase a few million dollars in gift vouchers to spend at my leasure over the next few years,
Pour a butt-load of money into a few choice charities targetted at cancer research, recreational sport for kids and young adults, and educational projects in developing countries. Oh, and I'd throw a...
Ah, I see. Given your love of reviews I'd really like to see more of your posts around here. I quite like James Herriot and read most of his All Creatures Great and Small series many years ago. I think I'd get far more out of them and his style of writing today, I must say. Perhaps I should take...
Well, you have to start discussions sometimes if you want to talk about your favourites. In 18 months you've made only 25 posts! It's probably not the best way to start up a conversation if you're waiting for others to make the first move.
One of the best ways to get a good discussion going is...
In terms of 'thinking' books, 'A Prayer for Owen Meany' really made me think. It's not 'headache' material exactly, but is certainly thought provoking.
Try '1984' by George Orwell. It'll make you think, especially in today's world.
Almost anything, as I love all sport and recreation. Particularly hockey (the field variety), martial arts and bushwalking.
Do you have photographs on the walls of your bedroom?
I lived in Canada for quite a while, and am very familiar with the Maritimes. I particularly enjoyed Alistair McLeod, who I believe is a Cape Bretoner. "The Lost Salt Gift of Blood" was a great read. I'll put my thinking cap of for you regarding any more :)
Not sure if jenngorham is still...
Hi sme. I would think that your post does contravene the membership agreement, however based on your posts I would think this inadvertant.
Regarding your forum, my only comment would be that you've chosen an unfortunate combination of letters in your domain name... I hope that doesn't cause...
No, not push her life. Perhaps I explained myself poorly. I just meant that at times the links between her life and reading were a bit forced. I thought the very interesting thing about this book was that she didn't always read something intelligent. That might have been her intention, but it...
I was going more for the 'crikey' look - being an aussie stereotype for a little while. It's an akubra - perfect for outback trekking. If anyone would like to whip up a drizabone to match, feel free :).
Easily the scariest thing about the movie! "You have no power over me!"
Love, love, love this movie. If you haven't seen it, you're missing out big time. I used to watch this over and over again when I was 13 or so.
"What kind of magic spell to use?
Snips and snails, puppy dog tails...
