Sorry, it's too late for philosophy. I just loved this movie when it came out, and it's even more relevant today. I thought Jim Carrey was awesome in it, and I'm not a Carrey fan at all. This is definately on my list of top movies.
I think the idea of facades is interesting. Reality TV...
Hi fairyprincess, and welcome to the Forum. :) There's a lot of threads on this book already here, check out the following links:

Jemima: That's pretty creepy, but the sceptic in me wants to know how often you've had such feelings and then nothing happens? Maybe you do, but then you don't remember them later? Just a thought....
I wasted a good half hour today reading about Houdini, thanks guys  !! I've got to find a...
I've never read a John Irving that I didn't like! The World According to Garp would be one of the biggest sellers, I guess (thanks Hollywood), but I didn't pick that up until I'd read, maybe, 4 previous ones. I just love 'em all! Yes, that includes The Fourth Hand, which many people don't like...
I dunno Kenny... I reckon you thought long and hard about posting that Lego picture. It smacks of intellect to me :D. Please just tell me that you didn't actually take the picture...
I've never walked out of a movie. I've never even come close, actually. I generally research a movie enough before paying $10 that I'm pretty sure that I know what I'm getting. Even if it is a smoldering pile of horse refuse.
eg1) Mars Attacks.
eg2) Space Cowboys.
I probably came the...
Cheap if you're a Canuck... well, actually even then it's *damn* cheap compared to the US. You have to pay international fees which doubles the tuition for most schools. But if you're getting funded (as I am) your tuition comes out of your funding in most places that I know of. So if they tell...
Me too. I haven't read it but I've got to check it out. I'll make sure to borrow it, though, so as to not add to Mr Brown's sales totals any more (I can see Stewart knodding encouragingly). I know my partner's mother has a copy - she was crowing about it last time I was there. I really did...
Canada = no GRE :D
But I sympathise. I hate tests in general. I know a few people who've taken it and they really weren't too concerned about it at all. One girl only realised she needed to take it 3 days prior. Isn't it mostly general knowledge anyway?
I totally agree.
Of course, if...
That always seems a little cheeky/rude/dishonest to me. I've certainly done it, but I never do it to more than one person from one circle of friends because I would hate them to share emails and discover that I wasn't really sending them a completely original email.
I don't have an issue with...
Ha! There goes your theory about our tastes! I agree with you on these books from your lists - jury is still out on Donaldson's series though. I read that years ago when I was probably a little too young to understand it and really couldn't get into it. As for Terry Brooks - please poke my eyes...
Hmm... maybe it's a different one I'm thinking of, then. Is there a rape scene in Legend? I know the book I'm thinking of it at my folks' place, and I'll check and make sure I'm talking about the right one. I did read it 10 years or so ago, so I may be mistaken!
:D Maybe! I know a lot of...
I read Legend and then didn't really want to read any more. From memory the battle scenes went on for AGES and that really didn't appeal to me. Finely detailed military strategy bores me to tears! Now, if it's plot related, that's entirely different. Like, in Terry Goodkind's books, for example...
I was right with you, thinking holiday letters were shite and all that... then I got one today.
It was an email from a friend who I don't write to as often as I should and we've drifted apart. It was *so* nice to hear from her! I really liked hearing what she'd been up to, because she hasn't...
