    Writing for Runes Magazine

Typically we don't encourage advertisments. Instead of deleting it, though, I moved it here. Please feel free to start writing and publishing threads or contribute to threads that have already been started. Love to have your input.

Do you judge a book by its cover?

In order: Genre Author Title Art work So I guess I eventually get around to looking at the cover. There have been a few times where I put a book down and looked for another edition because I couldn't stand the thought of having that cover on my shelf, but thats a rare day. Books are...

Lions, Tigers, and Monsters Oh My!

I am very fond of the Guardian in Trumps of Doom by Roger Zelazny. (Of course, the whole Amber series is great.) Um, I also think that the Fire Angel in the same series is very cool too.

    The Sierra Oscar

Very candid description of the main character...not even wrestling with his inner pettiness and fearfulness, just describing it. Great people images too, reminds me of a 19th century barmaid peddling flowers on the side of her other business. I could almost smell the cigarette smoke. This may...

My new thriller 'The CIRCLE of SODOM'

Yeah, I think I saw that one on a website, you know on the Internet. :):):) (Insert smart aleck chuckle here.) I meant, where on the Bar? Mr. Baen's got a jillion posts on that thing. I mean, it would be easy to take a quote out of context if you weren't aware of the discussion it came...

So you're talking about epublishing? POD? Pick a genre of publisher or define a new one. (Please. Did I add Please? Hope I did. ;) )

    I'm talking to a computer

The implication is that surfing the net and using the computer as a communication tool is great until you begin to allow your online personality to be different from your real one, which is a temptation. Its not that you're talking to a computer, you're talking to others who are talking to you...

My new thriller 'The CIRCLE of SODOM'

Do you think you could give a link to this quote? Its probably from the bar, right?

    New Release

Good excerpt. Is there a map in the book? (See what I know about romance novels?) I thought the part I read was well written, for what its worth. Must have been quite a guy, though, to be able to maintain his concentration in that situation. Probably imminent death...

    A Challenge

Thats a great link. Tons of useful info, thanks. coramiri wrote: Well it can't be easy. Even with the advent of the word processor--although that probably expedited the process somewhat. (Beats a typewriter and vellum all to pieces.) :)

    Linux

That is just what I needed to hear. I built the system I've got ME running on right now just about the time ME and 2000 came out. Apparently I put more effort into hardware research than software. I'll not make that mistake again. Thats good news about XP and I wondered what the difference...

    Linux

Pass the asprin I am about to decide that anything is better than Windows ME. It has a defect that will in no way recognize a modem and dial out. I've just about decided to scrap the whole operating system and start over with something else. Then there's all that MS software I've...

    Greg Bear: Forge of God

Probably a good idea. I liked it but I am a habitual SF reader, as in I'll reread an SF book before picking up something else thats new.

    Interneticisms

MYOB Mind Your Own Business How could I forget MYOB? There are some colorful variants to this that call for the inclusion of an A at the end and/or an F in the middle. You can figure it out.

    Classic Books

Who was it that was talking about Watership Down not too long ago? I can't remember but they loved it as much as you. Alas, I've only seen the animated DVD version. Bought it for my kids and glad I watched it before they did, but loved it anyway.
