I just finished reading The Hot Zone and it IS scary, especially with the threat of the birdflu pandemic.
Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule scared me so much the for a few weeks, I couldn't be around men I didn;t know.
I, too, am more frightened of non-fiction than of fiction. I've not read...
Kenny - I am impressed by your post! Great effort!
Thank you for those - I will look into some of the ones I haven't read.
PS I will add my "off the beaten path" books when I get home.
I am currently reading "Holy Guacamole" and it's... well... different. It's sort of amusing... and I like the recipe aspect of it but I don't like the characters much or how Fairbanks switches perspectives for a half a page for almost no reason. Also, I read a part today that went something like...
It was all so bad that I honestly wished the guy dead.
He died about 6 months later - I mentally cheered, because he really was an arse, he cost me a really nice friendship and much stress and strife.
I hope that still looks like a quote - I don't think I've read anything so horrible...
Moto I am sorry! I didn't realise! I am pouting a little. Is it working?
Enya - well, Australians like pies. Steak and cheese pies, meat pies, curreid lamb pies. Plus we have lammingtons and such.
I wish I could make you taste them but I am a vegie so I have only haad the vegetarian...
I have a great deal of wanderlust in me! I've lived in about 8 states in the US (seen many more), lived in Tasmania but have travelled the mainland. I am going to move to the mainland next year and probably live in Brisbane.
I love the US and Australia for different reasons.
In my...
mmm. This is my genre.
Poppy Z Brite
John Saul
Robert McCammon
Clive Barker
It depends on what you consider horror. These four writers do horror and other genres. Be more specific and I can help.
Also, let me know if you have a queasy tummy.
We did this as kids... I didn;t think it had trickled down! My daughter has never been a part of this. Thank gawd!
Once again, I reckon this is an issue of where you raise your child. I shan't elucidate but if I were to reckon....
Yeah, I guess I just buy the CDs and not try to hear online. If I wnat to hear a band, I order it into a shop to listen to it on their headphones. If I hate it, I walk away.
Bastard Son by George (no something... obviously found at a dodgy location! Haha!)
George is an Australian band and they are absolutely fantastic! Have a listen if you can.
You're up Monkey Catcher.
Ok. Here goes.
"happiness will someday bite
from eating sunbeams in the night
crunch it chew it spit it out
strip the flesh and suck it out
between the teetch of envy plain
come bits of cosmos fire and rain"
