How long before you give up on a book??

I geneally finish everything, even if it takes awhile. Hell, I've been reading Clive Barker's Imajica for over 8 years now. The plot and characters are so bizarre that it's easy to get back into. Maybe I'll pick it up and finish this week. Good idea!

Smoking is addictive - yay or nay?

True Martin. We must factor in the personality traits. Some people have addictive personalities, some people don't. However, fags are most certainly addictive and maybe a study should be done (HAS one been done yet?) about the effects of socialisation/personality on addiction. Is it more a...

Smoking is addictive - yay or nay?

Ha! I AM an ex-smoker so I know what it's like to be both a smoker and not a smoker. My favourite fag used to be the one I had after work (I work in the medical field and felt really stupid when I was a smoker because I knew the damage I was doing, hence, smoking was done AWAY from town). Ok...

Smoking is addictive - yay or nay?

Smoking is addictive. I used to share an office with the drug and alcohol nurse and he told me that there would be heroin addicts who would tell him they'd beat the smack but not the fags. It's been proven to be the most addictive substance when taking everything into account. There are...

    Personality Test

I wear those trendoid coloured (yellow/browny) because I saw them for $20. What that says about me is that I spend most of my money on books (and movies).

How much do you spend on books annually?

I spend A LOT on books! I must say that it would be in the four figures. Now I am hanging my head. That's A LOT of money, now that I think about it...

Do you buy, borrow or take out from the library?

I buy my books, whether it from a used book shop, a new book shop, a fund-raising book sale or a yard sale! Even the tip shop. I like having my books on hand. I cannot get them from a library because returning them would be like returning a puppy to the Dog's Home. If I am not sure about a...

    Anyone enjoy books on CD???

I agree with marlasinger - the act of 'interacting' with a book is important to me! I love the smell and feel of a book. However; I have listened to "LTs theory of Pets" read in London by Stephen King. A hoot!

    The Interview With God

I guess I am taking the stand that 'evil' isn't always made. There are many, many people who have had horrific childhoods and yet are now model citizens. Why? because they're inherently good. Take Dave Pelzer. If anyone deserved to become a deviant, he did. Instead, he's a functioning strong...
