    which path?

Unfortunately, my heart rules my life meaning my mind has a lot of cleaning up to do generally. Hence, why I am here in the US and not in AU. Tsk tsk, me.

"No one Here Gets Out Alive" about Jim Morrison. Sick dude he was but I DO love the music!

    Looking for violence!

As I have brought up often with no reply... "Excuisite Corpse" by Poppy Z Brite. If you read it, let me know what you think. I was amazed that it was published due to the gore and mindless violence (even though I sanction it in moveis and books with proper warnings, of course).

Horror novels aren't real whereas the news is... I'd rather read a horror novel about something imaginary than to watch the news and see what we as humans do to each other in real life. Imagined monsters a preferrable to me than real monsters.

    The Fiftieth Gate

Bummer. There is a great story of a Holocaust survivor called Ellie. She was a young teenager during the war and tells her story of Auschwitz and may be more accessible for your students as she was a bit younger then the average writer (I have found that to be so in my reading). Good luck...

How often do you talk about books?

I ALWAYS talk about books. If a stranger is reading something, well, they aren't safe from my probing questions! People say my face lights up when I talk about them. Maybe it does...

    The Fiftieth Gate

I've read it. I too found it confusing. There are much better books about surviving the Holocaust. Do you have to use that book?

    Patricia Cornwell

Her books were good at first but then they became formulaic and plain ridiculous. I don't read her books anymore.

    The Fog

Scared the poo out of me and I don't want to see a remake because it was the shadowy almost not there creatures that had me shaking. I think a new movie would use CGI or some such thing.

    Strange Sounding Titles...

Born on the Fourth of July - You can see a lot standing under a flare in South Vietnam (I think that's hw the title reads... it's been years)

The word "****" on a t-shirt - freedom of speech?

I am a mother of a 15 year old so I understand about what children see and explanations, etc. I couldn't care less if the woman had that on her shirt. Buffering kids from '****' on a t-shirt and allowing them to see anything having to do with dead people, war, etc.... which would you choose? You...

    What's your Pirate name?

Iron Anne Bonney A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

are you worried about a pandemic?

People have too much of a 'it won't happen to me' idea that they should have grown out of along with diapers. It's irresponsible. Don't get me going on failure to innoculate children.

    Books you want to re-read

I reread The Great Gatsby every year. Also, some oldies but goodies like The Phantom Tollbooth and The Little Prince and Watership Down.

are you worried about a pandemic?

Yes there are different vaccines for different strains but the avian flu has jumped species so a new vaccine must be developed. I am not too frightened about it really. Maybe as time goes on. I only get worried when I hear about people I come into contact with decide to travel there.

Recommendation from the King fans out there

I read it many years ago. Maybe that accounts for it. I think I was a teenager. Things are perceived differently at different ages, I think.
