Both my husband & I were taught the most common resolution is still 800x600 (my husband is still taking his course, so it is up to date information) so we always do the working my the lowest common denominator thing when designing webpages. (ie make a screen capable of adapting from around...
Recent JKR interview
Sorry if it's already been posted, but I just found a really interesting interview with JKR held on 16th July on The Leaky Cauldron
My daughter has the child's cover & I've got the adult one, we both prefer our own covers so everyone's happy.
One thing I do think is worth mentioning, is how tricky it seems to be to find the adult cover. I live in Leeds, so it's hardly as though I don't have much choice shopswise, but the...
You sound just like Acolyte! I fear you have both had unfortunate incidences involving smilies, maybe they rejected you once or something & the unrequited love became too much *winks* (hopes actions are acceptable in place of smilies)
Photography? I love photography ... just a shame it doesn't love me back *sobs* unrequited love is so harsh.
Anyway, welcome to the forums, like Ronny I have already had so many great books recommended to me, just wish I had the time to read them all.
Hi Wilderness, surely it's the thought that counts when it comes to intros - and at least you got there eventually! Anyway, welcome to the board ... even though you've actually been herer for months .. I might even have to get you to show me around some time ;)
I loved the first few series of Red Dwarf, but then they seemed to run out of ideas very quickly. Couldn't stand it once they decided to bring Kochanski back - it just seemed to lose everything that made it funny in the first place.
Still think the Polymorph epsiode must be one of my absolute...
You want a list or just a couple of bullet points? I could go on forever ...
anyway, let's just go for the top few: I am stubborn, far too much of a perfectionist at times, get very headstrong over my principles & refuse to back down over them, speak my mind way too often, am very sarcastic &...
very valid point Sinsio - especially if you think that Dumbledore had finally given Snape the DADA job, so he obviously implicitly trusted him, plus he froze Harry so he couldn't stop anything, he had already made Harry promise that he would sacrifice Dumbledore if it meant saving everyone else...
That would be an interesting idea, but they did stipulate that you need to do something so evil your soul is teared apart in order to make horcruxes & I just can't quite picture that of Dumbledore.
I was under the impression she'd made it clear all along that she only wanted Harry Potter to run for so long. She has cited several times that she doesn't want to be like A.A.Milne & only known for writing children books.
Supposedly, she wants to write adult books & be taken seriously for...
and what does the message by R.A.B say?
"To the Dark Lord
I know I will be dead long before you read this
but I want you to know that it was I who discovered your secret.
I have stolen the real Horcrux and intend to destroy it as soon as I can.
I face death in the hope tghat when you meet...
To be honest, I wish in many ways that OOTP had never been published, it would have made much more sense storywise to have gone pretty much straight from GOF to this. The only thing I liked out of OOTP was the split there was starting to clearly be between Harry & his friends & the building...
I am afraid to say that there were already a lot of english people who have been very anti-muslim since 9/11 & still haven't changed their attitudes, as though every single muslim was at fault somehow. My husband is english, but he tans very easily, has dark hair & dark eyes so he sometimes...
