    America being ridiculous...again

After I followed the white rabbit he told me......and then did something very inappropriate with a carrot.

    America being ridiculous...again

Agreed, was wondering if something would happen. Also, thanks to the moderator who was kind enough to private message me about a situation and ask before making a decision. I was very impressed and appreicate it. :) -True

    America being ridiculous...again

That is a good question. I tend to lean toward the idea that it is due to how each one's perspective is formed while growing up. What one has experienced as well as the reactions they have witnessed to these experiences, seems to go a long way in determining what they believe. Obviously this...

    America being ridiculous...again

Just wondering what you found interesting about it? Yes, all of the rural areas voted for Bush and cities for Kerry....

    America being ridiculous...again

Would be curious to know where you came upon that idea? I don't believe it is true as a whole, and I know it is not in my case.

    America being ridiculous...again

Does it really have anything to do with running the country though? Granted, there are certain values entailed, but why not talk about the values instead of copping out behind an idea of a religion. Which about 95% of the people that claim they are part of don't really invest in any of its...

    America being ridiculous...again

Can I have a polka dotted one?

    America being ridiculous...again

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the EU quite obviously allows more liberties. Ok so it wasn't a limb so much a big freaking road, a highway perhaps. Anyway, just so that everyone claiming this can't be accused of having an outside perspective, my opinion comes from right inside...

    America being ridiculous...again

"It is a curious subject of observation and inquiry, whether hatred and love be not the same thing at bottom. Each, in its utmost development, supposes a high degree of intimacy and heart-knowledge; each renders one individual dependent for the food of his affections and spiritual life upon...

    America being ridiculous...again

That's from Auguries of Innocence, which I think you had a quote up from not all that long ago. A very valid question that is asked throughout literature. The dichotomies of language and implication of each end when referring to one seems to make it hard to think they could be independent...

    A little trouble...

It's ok, I'm not sure anyone can really offer help. I'm kind of proposing my own origional theory, was just hoping for discussion about it if possible. To see if I could make it stand.

    Herman Melville: Moby Dick

Heh, yes Melville can get quite descriptive. However, if you don't enjoy that stuff I encourage you to skip those chapters, as they are easy to spot, and read the rest. I found it to be quite a good book, with a few amazingly written chapters knocking me on my ass in a manner of speaking. -True

    Bios of the stars

May to November between posts, talk about bringing something back from the dead. :) I don't know whether he's a "star" , but read a good portion of Clinton's autobiography.

    A little trouble...

She's just making sure. I'm fairly certain this site is free from it or my computer would have detected it, but w/o knowing where you've been it's hard to know otherwise. Sorry I can't help more crystal , I'm sure someone can recommend a good spyware detector and blocker for you.

    Books/Authors you hate

Any chance you could elaborate a little for me? Just interested in why. I mean did you not like the ideas? Do they conflict with your beliefs or religion perhaps? Or maybe you just aren't interested in philosophy in literature? Curious is all.....

    How To Grow The Forum

There's already been an influx of insane numbers of people in the last two months. From an owners perspective perhaps this is no doubt a good thing. On the other hand from mine, I somewhat enjoy the fact that many of us know each other quite well from months and months of discussing things on...

Books you'd never let your kids read....

Why? It has a good message, a great ethics system, and is as entertaining as any other novel I've read. Perhaps if you want to get rid of the religious dogma have them read the Jefferson Bible.
