To me it sounds like Christopher Pike's Last Vampire series. Although I've only read books 3-5 out of the 6 so I can't be too sure on all the details.
If it isn't the right one try this vampire book database: http://www.vampires.nu/pages/Books.cfm/PageID/22
Studying for my Human Biology exam... which is on Tuesday. I've been doing lots of things to avoid studying. Reading, eating, editing wikipedia, browsing forums, and trying to find my standard grade certificate from last year (which I swear I haven't lost :o ).
This is strange because I'm reading Empress Orchid by Anchee Min at the moment and have also started to wonder more about Chinese history. :p Before I was more interested in Japanese history, but my interest has grow. I have Wild Swans on my TBR pile too and hopefully I'll get to read it soon...
The colour isn't exactly my cup of tea either... but I guess I can learn to get used to it. Or perhaps we could have the option of using a different skin, like the old one. It could be called Nostalgia. :p
One little thing I don't really like is the fact that theres adverts between the posts...
Here's what I bought today:
Ring - Koji Suzuki (£2.97)
Alias Grace - Margaret Atwood (£2.00)
Murder in the Dark - Margaret Atwood (£1.50)
Nineteen Eighty-Four - George Orwell (£2.00)
The Dilbert Principle - Scott Adams (£1.79)
The Phantom of the Opera - Gaston Leroux (£0.75)
The Wee...
I have many reasons. I'll only mention a few though...
I just love to collect things. I'm a junky for old beads and buttons off the ground. I have stamp collections, Magic the Gathering cards, and even my old Pokemon cards! Yes, I am a nerd, and darn proud of it. :p Since I mainly get my...
It was quite confusing at times. I did have to go back a few paragraphs every now and then when I became confused by whether it was present or past. I don't like giving up on books and I'm glad I didn't with this one.
I agree that it was another of her times when she was avoiding being...
I wouldn't normally point something like this out, but there is already a topic about guilty plessures, and it is active (last post was yesterday). http://forums.thebookforum.com/showthread.php?t=10942
Thought I'd dig this up to see what everyone else has stacked up. I also thought if I post the 5 I think I'll read next I can see how far I stray from it. :p
1. The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger
2. Eragon - Christopher Paolini
3. Industrial Magic - Kelley Armstrong
4. Haunted...
Thought I'd pop over here to say Happy Birthday to you MC. (Theres a birthday topic for you and four other people at another forum I frequent. I remember seeing you there once, but I don't think you visit anymore. :p)
Happy Birthday! Have a great day! :D
At the moment I've mainly been listening to cello rock (Rasputina) and punk cabaret (The Dresden Dolls) with a bit of J-(Japanese) and K-(Korean) pop/rock thrown in. I like quite a lot of rock and punk music, including some of the heavier stuff. I can't stand rap or county, and a lot of newer...
I finished reading The Blind Assassin today and after reading through this discussion I feel like digging it up again and throwing in my thoughts, however insignificant they may be in comparision to others.
On the note of clothing I agree that it did play a major part in showing what women...

Its much easier to have a thread like this than to look in everyones profile. Part of the fun of threads like this is seeing people admit they thought certain people were a different gender than they state. :)
Same here. Since joining here the number of books I own has multiplied many times over and my to be read list has gotten out of control. :p
I have surprisingly few friends that I actually trust to give a recommendation on books. I know one that would probably give me a half decent fantasy...
I'm listening to The String Quartet Tribute's cover of Mudvayne's World So Cold at the moment. My playlist is made up of many different songs they've covered. :)
Hmm... an author they recommend if I liked Alice Sebold is Anonymous. And also Destojevski (which even I know is a spelling error).
Other than the spelling errors one thing that can be annoying is that if you leave it for a while everything drifts further and further til they overlap..
