    Author of Shiva's Messenger

I could not see any innovative ideas. It seems you just regurgitate a bunch of "radical" ideas you read in some books, without actually understanding them. I'm really impressed by your advertising efforts. I bet you got a lot of new readers from your posts on this forum.

    The Inconvenient Truth

Gore, nomatter what you think of him (i dont like him much either), has done a lot to spread awareness about the issue. Thats why he was nominated. Personally i would not give it to him. The events in Burma came to late for the nomination to the nobel peace prize this year but they are most...

    Suggestions Needed: Humorous Children's Fictions.

Astrid Lindgrens books are great. Its a shame if they are out of print in English. You should also look into Roald Dahls childrens books.

    Should these ads air?

I find it silly that these ads are even discussed.

    Hunting down rare/old/much needed books...

I usually go to a high quality used bookstore. If they dont have it i can usually ask the guy working there and then he will try to get it for me. Its worked good for me so far.

    Any Board Gamers Out There?

I would not say i'm an active boardgamer but its fun sometimes. Most of the time its Trivial Pursuit, but i also occasionally play Junta, risk or scrabble. My favourite boardgame of all time is still Junta, but rarely end up playing it as it takes a bit more dedication than most other boardgames.

    1 in 4 Americans don't read-CNN article

Sadly journalists practically never mentions the margin of error. Thats particularly annoying in surveys done monthly/yearly that is compared to last months/years survey. Then you usually get situations where the magnitude of "change" is less than the margin of error. For instance if in 2007...

J.K. Rowling set to write "crime" novel

I think you went wrong when you tried to pin literature into a narrow definition, and I dont see the need to do so. Literature or not is in a way a measure of quality, but it is not something you can measure easily.

J.K. Rowling set to write "crime" novel

I'm sure you can find plenty of "trash" fiction that could potentially teach you something about People too.

J.K. Rowling set to write "crime" novel

That seems like a very strange "definition" to me. What does the authors of literature want to teach you?

J.K. Rowling set to write "crime" novel

Thats a statement thats repeated many times, but booksales are not skyrocketing outside of harry potter books. Kids dont read more or advance much beyond harry potter.

DC Comics: 30 Essential Graphic Novels

Its DC comics. I think Preacher would have been there if you could forget the last 5 books or so. :) I would have picked ronin too, one of the best by frank miller. Oveall it seems that whoever made that list might be a bit too much of a batman fan.

    Gwillian? Your help please

Made me think of Empire of the Sun, by JG Ballard, but the title dont fit.

What music genre drives you nuts?

Despising a entire genre seems a bit silly to me. You can find good music in any genre.

    Great Lyrics

Hard to pick out one song but artists like Bob Dylan, Townes van Zandt and Tom Waits have some great lyrics.
