I would love to go to China..that is on a list, but not at the top. Planning a trip this year for Coasta Rica-hiking in rainforests, volcanoes, beaches...what more could you ask for? ha ha
It seems that anywhere else they appreciate you at least trying to use their language. When I lived in Germany that was certainly the case. My landlady thought it was funny, but she respected us more by trying.
Paris is one of those places for me that is "been there, done that." I don't feel...
You were fortunate. When I went they were not nice at all, but in their defense many of the tourists were nice either. I even tried to speak French, but that didn't go over well. I mean when I am in another country I am prepared to at least speak some of their language :)
It is certainly interesting to go to different areas to hear the people talk :)
I would love to go to Ireland. I have heard that it really is green and absolutely beautiful there. One day...that is on my bucket list :)
My family still lives in Maine. I was born in New Hampshire and you wouldn't think there would be such a difference between the states. There certainly is! Sometimes I go back to visit and I can't understand some people because of their accents  She would talk like a Maine hick instead? ha ha
