Just started Still Life With Crows by Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child (I highly recommend any of the "Pendergast" novels by these 2). Also reading Destiny by Elizabeth Haydon. Picked up Fools Errantby Matthew Hughes.
Reading to my kids: Whales on Stilts by M.T. Anderson, Gregor the...
Just picked up Still Life With Crows today from the Library. I wonder if I can finish this book as well as Brismstone before Dance of Death comes out on June 14th...probably not.
Big surprise...I read Book 1 of this series Beyond the Pale. I never progressed to Book 2 though. I don't recall too much about it other than 2 modern-Earth humans wind up going to a Fantasy World. I found it to be somewhat enjoyable, I may eventually move on in this series. In your opinion...
One thing we Survivor fans need to keep in mind is the fact that by Day 30 or so, these people are breaking down physically, psychologically, emotionally etc., so they are not exactly pre-disposed toward rational behaviour. Hell, I can't go 1 day without coffee without turning into a raving...
I don't think any jury member in the history of Survivor has ever refrained from making accusations about the final 2 and how they "cheated", "lied", "backstabbed", blah-blah-blah. Sour grapes
7th/8th grade - The Cars self- titled first album. It's a wonder I didn't bore a hole right thru the vinyl I played it so many times. The Knack, Boston, Aerosmith, Foghat
9th/10th grade - Led Zeppelin (any and all) - and yes, if you play Stairway to Heaven backwards there are indeed...
I won't knock Harry Potter, but there are many novels and series for young readers that are equally good or better that haven't generated the same manic fanfare. The only thing I don't understand is why this particular franchise has risen to such heights while others linger in relative...
I think that if Katie was on the fence about whether or not to vote out Ian, Caryn's psychotic rant at Tribal Council was just the factor to tilt the scales. Sometimes Ian's actions surprise me, but I think he's really young. I believe we have a 2-hour season finale left and that's it.
2 books at once is child's play, sometimes I have as many as 5 going. And that doesn't count what I'm reading to my kids at night!
The only time it gets tricky is when I'm starting 2 brand-new Fantasy books at once, then I have a hard time remembering names of characters and places, etc.
I liked Titus Groan but never progressed further into the series. I could not finish Shadow of the Torturer, I found it torturous to read. Despite the fact that Gene Wolfe is critically acclaimed and all that nonsense and Shadow of the Torturer is supposedly a Science Fiction classic. I...
Yeah, I wasn't sure because of the date. I would recommend "In Legend Born" also by Laura Resnick. It is loosely based on the Roman occupation of Scotland (or Ireland???) and the ensuing revolt. There is magic and prophecy and all that good stuff.
Well, Tom and Ian finally figured out that Greg and Jenn were calling the shots. They finally got rid of Greg and now there's a good chance that they can advance to the final 2 (as long as one of them keeps winning immunity). I can't figure out why Ian blabbed to Katie about their plan to get...
Finally picked up Destiny! Haven't started it yet though. And as if my reading list isn't long enough, RUNE has me looking up new authors I've never heard of!!!
I'm currently reading A Forest of Stars, Book 2 of Saga of Seven Suns and I enjoy it immensely. I would recommend Book 1, Hidden Empire by Kevin J. Anderson.
