    Go Ask Alice

i read it when i was 12. i'd like to re-read it someday since i was left confused at some points - i was only 12. i've read articles how that "anonymous" thing was just a stunt for more attention. if its not a specificly true story, i'm sure theres been lots of times where it's actually happened...

aha... yeh me too. sometimes the couches are convientant tho. i loved them in this one barnes and noble i used to go to in NJ. i've only eaten at the coffee shop there once - to expensive. i'm not too picky with book stores, but i like having a large selection. the last borders i went to...

    Newspapers-R.I.P.???

there was a lot of those newspaper boxes along my route to school/home in NJ. i'd either buy a copy or get the last copy for free a number of times. i guess it made me feel intellectual at the time - i was just a kid. with newspapers the fact that my fingers get dirty is enough to annoy me...

Books. Who needs goddamn books anymore?

text messege bibles? oh god. that reminds me of the bible section in the book aisle of walmart. bibles are everywhere. i used a copy of a bible as a door stop before. rather disrespectful.. aha.. my sister got that copy from some random person trying to spread the word of jesus at her college.

Whats the longest you have ever spent buying a book

i always come to the library prepared with a list since its a 30 min drive. bookstores.. hm. it depends. there was many a time where i just went there randomly and i'd either see a book and remember that i've wanted to read it, or just browse until i discover something interesting. i can spend...

Book Crossing - Recycling books 'into the wild'

i've been on that website a few times. the concept itself is good but i wouldn't be able to part with my books. also, it seems like most of the books that are out there are unknown and uninteresting anyway. not surprising.

    The Great Book Abandoner

i've abandoned books but i finish them if i bought them. like my AP euro teacher said yesterday, its almost as you feel obligated to finish them. altho i stopped reading The Nanny Diaries midway. it was funny at first, but now its just redundant and the little kid annoys me. there wasn't really...

    How well read are you?

i've started a list of books i've read within a little notebook. i've got about 80 books in there even though i have no re-called all the books i've read since i was about 11 or 12. i dont really count the books i've read before then. i can't really estimate the amount of books i've read, but...

    "well read"

well read would have to include both different genres and classics. also, just b/c you've read a classic, it does not mean you understood the concept/meanings of it

    Maeve Binchy

can't say i heard of her, let alone read any books. i'll look into her now

    Why is reading 'dorky'?

i guess it has to do with reading being forced upon students. it depends what type of classes you take i suppose. i started carrying around a book again, therefore reading a lot more. i think ppl who read are more interesting and intellectual, or at least look like it.

    Bookshelves

i love those, they look so classy. the one book store in Uni of Penn [a barnes and noble chain] had them everywhere. i'd love to own them some day

Which books have positively surprised you?

hm probably the Jungle, mainly b/c i was expecting it to be a difficult read since i stereotyped my english class after The Scarlet Letter. Currently i'm reading Fight Club. it certainly surprised me, but i think in a good way. it's more "deep" than i thought it was going to be. [no, i haven't...

    Recently Purchased/Borrowed

i know what you mean about small print. print is very important to me while buying a book. i used to just keep the price into consideration, but the more i've read, the more i've concluded that the type of print effects the reading "experience"

    Currently Reading

i'm still reading Fight Club. i'm surprised how "little" it has to do with the actual fight club. its rather interesting though. i might continue reading Lovely Bones, just b/c its one of the books i need to check in to the library by the 10th
