hm that reminds me of when i'd get reactions from strangers over a band shirt/patch i'd be wearing.
no one i see daily really comments on my books since they dont really.. read. only for school i suppose. i had conversations about stephen king when i was reading Carrie a few weeks ago. Fight...
i am reading Fight Club right now. at first i'd get annoyed since C.P doesn't clarify what location/thing he's describing until a chapter later or something sometimes.
i was in walmart today and bought two stephen king books. i really liked Carrie so i thought i'd buy some more.
The gunslinger
Different Seasons
i bought the Green Mile a few weeks ago.. i'm excited to read it
i didn't dismiss it b/c it takes thinking. genre books are just easier to read and generally funnier. i actually prefer movies that require thinking and i consider them entertainment.
i agree and disagree with you. literature kind of spoiled me. i couldn't bear to finish The Nanny Diaries b/c it simply didn't have any substance. it was entertaining and all, but it got old fast. i do love genre fiction though. its more for entertainment i suppose.
right now i'm reading Carrie by Stephen King. it kind of sucks that i already know the plot/whats going to happen, but its a good read nonetheless - and quick.
i finished reading High Fidelity yesterday. i watched the movie twice before reading the book, but i actually still liked the book. it probably would've been better if i didn't know what would happen ahead of time
right now i'm reading Carrie by Stephen King. i bought a copy of The Green...
i started reading Carrie by Stephen King last night and i'm about 80-90 pages in.. i actually really like it, even though i pretty much know the plot/ending. [thank you pop culture]
i also bought The Green Mile yesterday in walmart.. only $4, and i like the plot
these are the ones i can think off of the top of my head
1. catcher in the rye
2. to kill a mockingbird
3. the jungle
4. a farewell to arms
5. the great gatsby
6. the perks of being a wallflower
7. virgin suicides
8. all my sons (well, its a play..)
9. girl, interrupted
10. who...
75-100? wow..
the public library in my old town didn't like me. well, i didn't like them either. :p to fucking loud and gossipy and they'd take out the popular books out for themselves/familes. they weren't to good at their job either. once they put a book my sister checked in away, and they...
i borrow books. well, i started to again. the public library is a good 30 min drive one way, but its new and nice and well stocked in my opinion. my school library's already. i was surprised actually on friday b/c i did find a lot of good books. i just dont take full advantage of it since i have...
i gravitate towards shorter books lately just b/c of time. but for the longest time i loved long books b/c i used to get really attached to the story. i dont really like buying short books for that reason, they seem almost like a waste of money. ironically i bought a copy of The Fountainhead for...
i guess in a sense i'm constantly talking to myself in my mind. i write in all of these journals, both offline and online.. recently i was writing on a piece of paper in class out of boredom, and i started off saying something "well, time to talk to myself again"
