i know what you mean. i'm about halfway through and it seems to be lacking something. which i hate b/c i cannot put my finger on that something. i haven't picked it up since about July, so i'll probably re-start it once i get around to reading it again. i have liked what i read so far though
hm well i finally bought fight club a week or so ago. during the summer once i started reading Diary in the book store. im pretty sure that that was the title. i liked it a lot even though i didn't have the money to buy it
hm.. my english teacher had us reading some sort of novel for the first 20 min of class 3 days out of the 5... she had a 30-page rule.
with some books i gave up within a few pages or a couple of chapters. i remember giving up on Beer mainly b/c i couldn't stand the dialogue. it was like a...
i took out to more books out of my school library. ah, just what i need. two more books on the huge "to read" pile...
Carrie by Stephen King. i never read any Stephen King and i figured his first was a good place to start.
Pure Sunshine by Brian James. mostly i'm just curious why there...
"if there is a god, then he's not worth praying to"
from white oleander
i just love it. i dunno why. simple and to the point. i'm not too religious and i'm at that phase where i do question the existance of god b/c of my past/present.
and i do agree with it. if there is a god, he's not...
well i just finished reading the Bell Jar this morning. i gave it a try when i was about 14 or so but didn't like it and i didn't finish it then. i loved it this time. as cliche as it sounds, "i couldn't put it down." definatly killed time in my classes.
real shame Plath died before writing...
i can't say that i have but it'd be rather interesting to. i'm not one to get excited over celeberties, bands, or writers though. i'd want to meet someone so i'd have a story tho =P and the chance to have some sort of intellegent conversation
i'd love to. i dont think i ever have.. with both NJ or PA.. it reminds me of when i saw garden state. they depicted the area i lived in PERFECTLY.... except they made the houses to nice. i was really happy since they had two scenes from my old town, wallington.
i started to read it but couldn't really get into it. maybe i'll give it another shot in a few months. i already returned it to the library a couple of days ago
i never read Little Women even though we have a copy. theres sooo many books i want to read, but i end up starting them and never finishing them for months, or just putting them off for years since i own the copy and think "hm, i have to read the library books first". also the Little Women copy...
i liked The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. it was an easy read and based on actual reality. it kind of reminded me of my family; we're immigrants. we had far more luck than this family [and less poisonious meat..] but we've struggled. my classmates didn't like it since it was so gross, but it was...
Wuthering Heights : i have to read that by Jan or so.. for Honors english 11.. my friend really liked it, but then again she also likes Dickens. i'm worried that i wont but hopefully it'll be alright in the end. i tend to go for more modern literature.
Anne of Green Gables : ahh i feel...
haha i'm one of the only people in the world who never saw the star wars movie.. and maybe the LOTR movies too.. my exbf would hum the star wars theme and i wouldn't regognize it.
hm.. we have different taste in movies, i see. i didn't like Dumb and Dumber. it just isn't my sort of comdey. i understand the artistic quality behind Nightmare Before Christmas, but again, not my type of movie. i'll watch the Harry Potter movies if come across them, but otherwise i'm not the...
hm.. kind of varies. probably school and AOL. its the quickest. i rarely watch the news even though i used to daily for a while.. i used to check out cnn.com for the hell of it, but i haven't in a while. now i check the internet if i'm looking for something specific about the news. :p
i actually just finished reading the stranger by albert campus about two hours ago
i'm interested in reading brave new world. my sister read it in high school
hm i hate it when endings are like that. i like surprises
hm i considered buying it at one point. i decided to take a break...
