astrid from White Oleander is a great character. it is a "coming of age" book, but w/ a twist considering her mother is in prison for murder. she had to spend her teenage years within foster homes.. there's a movie out about this book, but i think they failed to show her strength. astrid was...
i've read one or two of those when i was younger.. i dont really remember why i stopped. i think maybe cause it was to many unfortunate events for me =P
haha.. it definatly makes sense. i probably have done that a few times without completely realizing it. well, right now i do not want to re-read twp of my favorite books b/c it won't be as great the next time.

our coffee table actually has cookbooks, left by me. i like...
hm. it does depend for me. i used to be able to read extremely quickly. realistic fiction [good ol' teenager books] i can read very quickly. its just simple writing. literature takes me a while. it also depends how interesting the book is. i have a habit of putting the book down rather often
i couldn't get past the first few pages of that book. i just couldn't stand it. i couldn't stand the concept or the immaturity of the writing. i've considered giving it another try, but i guess i never got around to it.
i think the last time i wrote a fanfic was when i was 11. that should say something. i guess i can understand why its appealing to a certain point, but its just not the same. you can take the characters and some of their traits, but you just cannot mimick the origninal writer the same way. it is...
