hm, in elementry school there would be this thing where you'd read books under specfic genres, but you were able to go beyond. [this was a summer thing] i guess it was kind of a competition as to who read the most over the summer.
oh man.. i read so many books at one time. i'm trying to stop but its taking a while to finish them all up. i have about 4 books just paused while i take turns reading about 3-4 other books. one of them is nonfiction and composed of short stories so that works... another two are short story...
oh hemingway. i still got Old Man and the Sea waiting for me.
i read A Farewell to Arms in english class last year. i suppose its a good place to start
i read Neverwhere as an extra English bookreport in 9th grade over christmas break. i was surprised to like it alot. i actually want to reread it since i dont remember that much anymore =P
hm i'd say start w/ the new realeases and the popular books. i never ask librarians such questions, but i've had many comment on the books i was taking out.
1. Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien ?
oh man, i can't wait to see this..
9. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
i actually just returned that book today. didn't get past 4 chapters. meh, i just couldn't get into it.
just my opinions
killer angels by Michael Shaara. i didn't like it b/c of the extent of war tactics =P i just got lost, and i had to read it before i learned about the civil war in detail
my sister vented about that book sooo much when she had to read it a few years ago. i'll probably end up reading it just to see what she was venting about
