i just finished reading Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption from Different Seasons. i really liked it. plus, it had a 'happy' ending. i agree with some others, he really is a good story teller. i read 80 pages of it nonstop two nights ago.
i even got a book that i accidently got 2/3 wet by a pool. hell, it even grew mold! for some reason i dont have the heart to throw it out over two years later.
he's certainly got a ton to choose from. i bought a few from walmart, including Green Mile and Different Seasons. (a collection of novellas) Carrie was the first King novel i read. its really easy to get into his books and keep reading and kill some time when you can't sleep at 4am =P (like last...
wow, Stephen King definatly has a lot of fans. i'm actually reading a collection of his novellas, Different Seasons. not really horror but at the same time, the first story kind of hit a pit in my stomach that isn't hit often
ICQ? wow i haven't used that in years. wasn't it out pre-AIM? i remember it was annoying with those ID numbers.. never remembered mine let alone someone elses

MSN never fails...

When caught without a book you read the ingrediants list on your twinkie.
You know that if you work it right you can fit an average size paperback novel in your pants pocket.
You have maxed out your library...
the stranger, the bell jar, the jungle, the little prince, of mice and men, lord of the flies
there's more classics out there than you'd imagine. well, theres a lot of 20th century modern literature as well.
i wouldn't say that a guest speaker/book clubs would be important for me.. the new library 30 min away from me is pretty awesome. huge selections, huge building, lots of desks/chairs so there's an amount of privacy. the kiddy section is kind of secluded, so its quiet in the rest of library...
a few years ago i was searching the internet for free e-books, but concluded that its better to just read a regular book. i don't want to stare at a pixelized screen for hours while i can have a portable book to read whenever/wherever i want
i'm pretty sure that i read in the end of The Diary of Anne Frank that peter passed away in the camp he was at. that author could've just thrown that detail in to increase sales.
