Mark Twain: Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn

Classic example of the adventures of the picaresque Huck Finn, this is a classic, and has been attached to the title "Greatest American novel" more times than most novels. I would consider it a necessity for any who consider themselves an avid reader, particularly an American.

George R. R. Martin: A Song Of Ice And Fire

I think Sansa is heading down a most interesting path, she is the company of a master thats for sure. If anyone has shown they know what they are doing, it's Littlefinger. Personally I think Tyrion is one of the fantastic creations in epic fantasy.

Wooo-Hooo. New Robin Hobb Title announced

To schools of thougth I guess, I have never read a fantasy books that I felt had to many details. IMHO, perhaps around 10% have just enough, and the rest are severly lacking, which is why that although I hate it, the stigma associated with the fantasy and to a lesser extent Sci-fi is rather...

My first chapter books I read were from a books club that sent a classic a month probably when I was 5-6. I want to note these are just my opinions, and be mindful of that before anyone takes offense: Good question, and one that I am afraid changes in context depending what I am speak of but I will try to illustrate. By viewing other's opinion's online of what is best, often admittedly...

. Reviews from who? No reputable review site, or reviewer I am aware of has reviewed a ARC yet. If you could I'd love a link because I have only been able to read publisher summaries, I'd like to read them:) IMHO the more detailed the better the book. Epic fantasy drastially needs more...

Anyone read Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco?

I have seen a lot of questions about Ecco lately on various baords and that's a good thing. a GREAT author, and Focaults Pendulums is a GREAT novel. It's basically Dan Brown's Davinci Code only written by a quality author, not formualic or linear, and is giften with something much more than...

    Need some suggestions please

Hmm sees you like heoric or swprd/sorcery fantasy with Gemmell and RAS, I agree I thinK Eddings is horrible, but I would also add RAS and Gemmell's works aren't exactly known for their depth either, however that said I would recommend Fritz Leiber's work in Lanhmar. if you liked the Forgotten...

Well I could agree with them to, however I wasn't thinking the big picture, more on smaller aspects. For instacne what I thought was a god-awful novel Jedi Trial. fantasybookspot.com
