Damn good author, has been writing urban fantasy well before the craze really resurfaced recently. I recommend people to look at his collections that take place in the Newford setting, The Newford Stories which are simply great reading and a hell of a bargain.

I don't know what an autho's age has anything to do with it. Is tehre na ydoubt he has read The Lord of the Rings, Pern, and EarthSea before writing Eragon?
His work is basically derived from those 3 novels IMHO; and clearly.
I just recieved an email from Ms. Hobb who clerified that the excerpt I recieved from Harper's is outdated and this one (one we have seen) is the more accurate (my apologies for any inconveinience) Still no comment on the possibility of a delay:
I just talked to my UK/Voyager rep (Hobb's Uk publisher) and she has confirmed that the UK release will be August 1.
I also recieved a new excerpt that can be read HERE
I recently was given the opportunity to interview SF author Matthew Hughes, whose book Black Brillion ever fan of SF should be reading IMHO. A great combo of SF/Crime/Psychological novel, and best of all he is gifted with a Jack Vance-like prose (and I know how big of a statement that is)...
In a perfect world I'd probably do the same but between reading what I want to read, and making sure I read anything an author sends to me to get a review out in a timely fashion it's simply not possible.
Mr. Thompson was good enough to send me a review copy and I reviewed that HERE...
I'm currently reading Alastair Reynold's Revelations Space, but just got a review copy of Jonathan Moeller's Demonsouled in the mail, which came out last month, so I'm alternating.
Congrats!
If you want to send me a review copy I iwll review it at Fantasybookspot. to help you get the word out. If interested PM me on this board. Thanks!
Jay
