    Thought provoking question

I'll say O, because it is orbiting in space and an astronaut orbiting in space is weightless.

    The nightmare of Publishing...

In my opinion, advertising doesn't sell books. So that leaves publicity and word of mouth. To get publicity you need to already be a celebrity, or be unique and outrageous. To get word of mouth, your book needs to be so incredibly good, or so different, that people will talk about it instead...

    The nightmare of Publishing...

And even if you do get published, you probably won't make enough money to live on. (A friend of mine published four books and never made enough money to quit his day job.)

What's wrong with auto racing in the US of A?

"Reunification" rumors have really heated up in the last couple of days. We'll see.

    Margaret Atwood: The Blind Assassin

That was hard. I'm going to go have a beer and watch some sports before my testerone level drops dangerously low.

    Margaret Atwood: The Blind Assassin

Actually, I do consider the lead characters in a Margret Atwood novel to be symbolic of all women. (I received better marks in grade 10 English when I did that.) Since no one else has taken a stab at the symbolism of The Blind Assassin, here's my best attempt at a B+. Society expects women...

Where to start with Stephen King?

I read Carrie and liked it. I always find the book "that made an author famous" interesting.

What's wrong with auto racing in the US of A?

It's pretty simple. I’m really not into horseracing, but I watch the Kentucky Derby. I'm not really into college basketball, but I watch March madness. People who aren't hard-core racing fans will watch what everyone else is watching. That used to be the Indy 500, where the best drivers...

Ernest Hemingway: A Farewell To Arms

I read it a long time ago, but that's what I remember too. I thought she was very weak and unrealistic. Romance isn't really Hemingway's forte. I've read some of his Spanish Civil War short stories. They were excellent.

    Why read non-fiction?

Plus, some non fiction writers make up just as much stuff as fiction writers.;)

What's wrong with auto racing in the US of A?

I want to do the racing school at Mosport. Do you race yourself?

What's wrong with auto racing in the US of A?

guilty. Sweet car and probably one of my favorite turns. I'll never forget Zanardi's pass there. That's got to be fun.

What's wrong with auto racing in the US of A?

I certainly hope so. I just got back from stinking up an indoor cart track, but that's probably only interesting to me. What are the five forums?

    No-no or taboo themes

If you have an uncle niece marriage in your family, you have the beginnings of a "platform."

    Fiction books are inspired by...

For 99% of fiction writers, the pay sucks too. I often wonder why so many people want to be writers.

Looking for a good novel with certain criteria...

You're maturing right before my eyes. I didn't think you'd be able to ignore the praise for Dan Brown. Good for you. What an amazing character arc.

    Fiction books are inspired by...

    What inspires authors? Hunger.

What's wrong with auto racing in the US of A?

I don't really care how many people buy a book, just whether it's good. If it's good, I'll tell other people to check it out.
