I always use a proper bookmark but if an emergency crops up - for instance, no available bookmarks going spare, I have been known to use shopping receipts, torn corners off newspapers, envelopes, bills - in fact anything that comes to hand. I hate leaving books open print-side down.

It's definitely been a while since I read 'Ruan' A Novel by Bryher. In fact it's been so long I can't recall whether I enjoyed it or not. It's timing is placed after the death of Arthur and that's all I can say on the book - perhaps I'll reread it :rolleyes:
Does 'The Merlin Conspiracy - Trick or Treason?' by Diana Wynne Jones count? It's been a while since I read it - many books have passed my way since but I do recall enjoying it. Probably not as literate as some mentioned but if you're interested in this genre...
I hate being interrupted whilst reading. It's just as bad as those who constantly ask what's going on in a movie when they're watching it at the same time as you. I've taken a lesson from my mum - another avid reader. When interrupted I just glance up - that fleeting moment of 'eye contact'...

Recently read The Taking by Dean Koontz. Thought the storyline was intriguing. Had me guessing throughout as to what was happening and why. I'd come to one conclusion only to have it dashed - mostly by his descriptive references to the odd entities running around...
