    anyone in to asian films?

Excluding Anime and Kurosawa I recommend these South Korean movies: "The Isle" (Seom) and "Bad Guy" (Nabbeun namja) by Ki-duk Kim. Both deals with prostitution, misery and love to the fullest. "Joint Security Area" (Gongdong gyeongbi guyeok JSA) by Chan-wook Park. Takes place at the...

    Last seen...

The last movie I saw was "The Time of the Wolf" (Le Temps du loup) by Mikael Haneke. It wasn't bad but for being Haneke it was too sweet and had somewhat stereotypical characters in my opinion. I'd recommend seeing Haneke's "Benny's Video" and "Funny Games" instead.

    Robert Heinlein

I think you choose the wrong books to begin with. The only other book by Heinlen that is harder to chew than the ones you picked (with the possible exception of "Friday which I haven't read") is "Time Enough For Love" out of the books I've read at least. If you didn't finish them it's...

    Have any of you...

I clicked on an advertising link once that said "Do you hate chick lit". Which was advertisement for an anti chick lit book that had a nice description and I planned to request it for a library but the humour on the website turned me off eventually.

    How big is yours?

I have plenty written and unwritten books on my reading list (in case this made someone extremely confused I want to make it clear that they are unwritten on the list, it's not books that haven't been written yet). I only have two books on the shelf that are waiting to be read at the moment...

Do you seek out or pay attention to book news?

The kids should stay out of my gingerbread house I don't follow books news such as reviews, magazines or television shows because they usually don't bring up books that are of interest to me. It's usually social realistic novels that want to opinionate or detective stories. There's probably...

    Deviant Behaviour

One of my personal favourites among deviations is when strangers keep holding your hand when they've shaken it. It goes against all moral norms and usually requires confrontation to get your hand back.

Books you're never likely to see

I think you should follow your own advice and say what's unclear to you. To answer your first question, I mentioned liberalism and Novella mentioned "liberal". A liberal can be defined as someone who fancy the ideology liberalism (political and economic freedom in this case).

The Top 100 Movies Of All Time Based On Critics' Polls

I think it's good that action films with cheesy one liners at least are represented. I think that some of the movies on that list are on it because they were innovative at their time rather than being movies that withstand time. I haven't seen it yet but from what I've heard "The Birth of a...

The Top 100 Movies Of All Time Based On Critics' Polls

Kino Kino Lots of overrated movies in my opinion. Out of those I would recommend the following: The Seven Samurai "Godfathers" Rashomon Andrei Rublev Blade Runner Stalker The following aren't too bad either: Jules and Jim, Taxi Driver, Psycho, Persona, Chinatown, M, Barry Lyndon...

Books you're never likely to see

I wrote North America on purpose as to include both citizens of the United states of America and Canadians because they have had the same way of using the word "liberal" from what I've seen. Is that incorrect? Although I keep forgetting that North America also includes Greenland, Mexico and...

Have any of you been wedgied? Is it something that actually is performed outside the television box? In our culture we do not have such things.

    Politics Primer

I'd suggest something school bookish that explains what's considered the three main branches of politics, socialism, liberalism and conservatism. Otherwise I recommend "In Defense of Global Capitalism " (Till världskapitalismens försvar) by Johan Norberg. Globalization is a pretty hot topic...

How long before you give up on a book??

I gave up "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" after about two chapters since I wasn't very fond of the style at all. Two chapters should generally be enough to tell if you want to complete the book or not. But I gave it another try since I have this agenda to read all the books that the...

    For people with bandwidth.

Very nice. I think it's supposed to symbolize the sadism of man. The natural desire to mess things up just for the sake of it. For people without bandwidth I recommend fr-08: .the .product.
